Yep, Airbourne were total pants and I'd be ashamed admitting how much I had to pay for the tickets for that gig. The eBay Power Seller I bought them off had sold loads of them (checked his feedback) so something was definitely going on. I agree, it was a great concert, Maiden were miles better than when I previously saw them a few years before.

Didn't see that pete, Thursday is 'film night', but I'm guessing the gist of it was that all the better tickets are snapped up by the organisers early doors?

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if that was the case, but I can't think of a suitable alternative for divvying out tickets for events like that.

It was actually worse than that mate, promoters gave a very large numbers of tickets to these companies to sell on at massively inflated prices in return for 90% of the profit. This meant that in many circumstances that average Joe Bloggs didn't get a sniff. The Coldplay gig at the O2 arena sold out in something like 40 minutes and many fans were left very disappointed (not just the ones that went to see them! :D), yet one company had a pre-sale allocation of 29,000 tickets. This company then sold them on at extortionate prices on their own site pretending to be third party sellers. It was all very dodgy indeed, the programme is well worth a watch IMO (presume it will be repeated or shown on 4OD?).

Anyone see Dispatches programme on CH4 last night about gig tickets? Shocking really although I have suspected things like this have been going on for a while. I tried to get tickets for Iron Maiden at the MEN Arena using a fan pre-sale link the minute it opened, I kept refreshing my browser for around 25 minutes (site just kept freezing) before it said there were none left. I tried again as they went on general sale, same thing happened until I finally got an allocation which was right 'up with the gods'. I checked eBay and there were 6 pages of listings for tickets for this event literally within half an hour of them going on sale. I ended up paying over the odds (not something I'm generally known for doing!), it was either that or not go. It's far from the first time this has happened either. I was annoyed at the time, I'm bloody fuming after watching that programme as it's obviously where most of the tickets went.[/i]

Single lens I believe even though the optician is trying to persuade me to go to varifocals - I tend to read better without them, but need them for everything else! Wore 'soft' contact lenses for nearly 8 years - during the winter, indoors all the time killed my eyes. Outside fine, even for climbing - except for dust and grit!

@pb - Nice one, a cheap night then :¬)

Jason, Kinect Sports Season 1 is £13.92 delivered here if thats of any interest? (£11.93 + £1.99 p+p). It's not a bad game IMO, one of the better Kinect titles but Dance Central 2 is definitely my favourite.

I used to be the same with games, trade-ins were my main source of game income! I hope the evening has been fun!

Just bought Kinect Sports Season 2 as I wanted to get more use out of my Kinect. Ideally wanted the first game, but the cheapest I could find it offline was £40, but found Season 2 for £28 in Sainsbury's. Played a round of golf with my girlfriend, she seemed relatively impressed.

DL - are you a varifocal chap, bifocal or someone that wears multiple pairs for different things? As for pb...know the feeling - just started wearing the hard lenses...£120 for the pair, but should last me a few years. Sadly my eyes don't like them!

£4

Plus a whole heap of games and old hardware thrown across the counter of Gamestation over the last few weeks.

I'm pretty sure they started hiding when they saw me coming in the last few days before launch.
