Morning all.

Getting to that time of year when I wonder whether to take the summer jacket or a thicker coat to work.

Must change my short sleeved shirts over to long sleeved again too, but that just feels like admitting summer is over!

Someone from the Met Office (on our bus route) told me that they're predicting lots of snow this winter.

Oh, and Happy Birthday to Chris as well.

Morning all, back from my weekend in Cardiff! Hate leaving for home, although it is only a week until I move back to university, so I can't complain too much!

DL, looks like I made the right call about travelling to Gillingham, huh? Listened to the game driving to Wales. Awful to listen to, especially the "controversial" penalty against us in the first few minutes that set the morale for the rest of the game. Seems like the FA really have it in for Rovers at the moment.

As for the violence, it is ridiculous. Those partaking in it because of a film ought to really question themselves. If I took offense like that over any movie I thought was terrible, such as the Pokemon movies, then I don't think Bristol would still be on the map. I realise the content was always going to be a bit controversial, but how many "anti-western" film clips are we subjected to?

That's so sad Machie, but actually displays the depth of depravity that I suppose exists in all humans :¬(

Thankfully, most of us have a common respect for life and don't support the actions of the more extreme members of our species.

I was just playing devil's advocate. Attacking embassies and killing innocent people (not just Americans, but their own people) because of a movie some guy made in his basement is not the best way to represent your way of life.

I know what you mean DL, my wife cannot understand why people would do anything but love and treasure their children. So she can't accept stories like the mother (in Japan) taping her 5 year old sons hands and feet and then sealing him in a rubbish bag as a form of punishment, which ultimately lead to his death. It's unbelievable.

It works both ways, Machie. Besides, some are, just like there are plenty of non-Muslims who are violent.

Think you could say '50-50' there pb!

When I sit with my granddaughter, I often ponder on why so many people mistreat their babies and young children ... now that sort of treatment has no seemingly valid reason!

So what you're saying pb is to save a species from extinction we should eat it? Sounds good to me. :)

So when are we going to talk about this whole Muhammad thing. Why doesn't the West understand how offensive it is to portray muslims as violent people.

I'm all for not killing animals for sport, or tipping the balance too far to cause extinction of a species, but we have canine teeth for a reason.

Totally agree pb. I read somewhere, many moons ago, that the 'pounds per square inch' of pressure exerted by the human jaw is that required to bite through flesh - so it's not just the existence of canine teeth that make us 'omnivores'.

I can't get my head around Veganism and the boundaries. I mean, do they walk slower so as not to step on ants or let mosquitoes bite them, because not doing so would be disturbing their natural patterns?

I'm all for not killing animals for sport, or tipping the balance too far to cause extinction of a species, but we have canine teeth for a reason.

Some animals, like cows, would be extinct now if it wasn't for farming.

Actually feeds in to a question that came up at breakfast today. Do Vegans eat Honey?

Good question pb ... according to this then the answer is no :¬)
