We ended up watching quite a lot of it. Got my parents hooked on it. Left the YouTube feed up for 3 hours :-P The majority of that was balloon inflating and rising...

@Chris - yep, but missed most of it because it kept getting delayed. Still think it was a bit mad, though.
My youngest can't wait for this week's local newspaper to see if she's in it. They took lots of pictures of the carnival and as her float got 1st prize it should be featured.

Hah, I wasn't that involved. I walked behind with a funny hat (picture available on Facebook) handing out leaflets and sweets.
