Our recycling centre isn't far, though, so not a huge problem.

No matter how far pb ... your local council have got to see the light!

I live 2 miles from the local tip ... it's palatial and widely praised for miles around. Yet I still have a 'garden collection' every 2 weeks throughout the year including Bank Holidays! Around here we recycle about 78% each year.

They collect it ... so I don't waste petrol and don't pollute the atmosphere with an unnecessary journey!

A trip to the dump? Do you not have a 'garden wheelie bin' in your area then? I only go to our tip now when absolutely necessary ... ;¬)

Nope, no garden waste, and this was 6 bags of stuff, too. If it's anything like our bins and recycling, you're only allowed a certain amount.

Our recycling centre isn't far, though, so not a huge problem.

How's everyone doing?

Afternoon, not bad pb, except knees and calf muscles played up during last night. Just finished removing a rotten fence panel covered in thick ivy! All's good now, just need to build a new one tomorrow:¬)[/i]

Ah, gardening. After work I dug up the roots of the tree my wife had cut down. Big pickaxe to the roots can be quite satisfying after a day talking to people at work. Then a trip to the dump to get rid of the many many bags of branches, roots and garden waste that we (well, mostly my wife) had managed to get through this last 2 weeks. But the garden has been transformed and my wife seems to now be happier that there are new plants and trees and that they will look 100 times better than the last lot. When they start blooming I'll take some pictures.

Been an interesting couple of days at work. Yesterday I had a cat on the roof rescue which went very well and the purring little beast was clearly well pleased with my efforts.

Today I find myself getting more involved in the work of our sister company in the US. I've pretty much been working full time for them for the last 6 months and I speak the boss their way more than my own boss ever bothers to speak to me. It just seems strange to be sitting in this office and not actually doing anything related to what goes on here.

Afternoon.

Busy morning and lunch time was spent trawling around shops looking for suitable presents for a 9 year old as my daughter was invited to a party at the beginning of the week (less than a week's notice!). My eldest has a party the day after but wants the choose the present herself (last minute, of course).

Just been billed for my Freeola site for the next 3 months and that's reminded me to close my Instant Pro so I can concentrate on the Wordpress site. Still a lot better than the cost of the hosting I was paying for before.
