Some children pb, went back here last Tuesday and then the rest Wednesday! I thought, and it seems many moons ago now, that 'school holidays' were to become 'nationalised' i.e. everybody off at the same time ;¬)
But it doesn't seem to have happened ... at times we, as a country, are so insular ... which isn't a bad thing but it is when viewed from the 'outside' ;¬)

For me it was being out with the kids on my week off.

Things are starting to go back to normal now. Both kids are back at school from tomorrow and I'm back working.

Last post here 1st Sept ... it's now the 5th! Where are you guys?
Noticed that a few 'tab titles' have changed recently as well ... Chat is now Forums ... suppose it fits ;¬)
Rained here throughout the day but has it has suddenly been 'hot as hell' and sunny!
It was a 'lovely' day in the Yard ;¬)
Hurricane/tropical storm named 'whatever' is now being blamed as an increase of 4p per litre of petrol because US refineries have been hit??? So how does petrol get from here to the US of A in sufficient quantities to sate their thirst for petrol? Why, because that is the reason cited for a 4p increase here!!!!

"Shirely" ... there must be thousands of other US of A refineries not hit?

Busy day, daughter's 13th Birthday. Thankfully not big party but still late sitting down to relax a bit before bed. Rockstar lifestyle, right here!

Afternoon,

this weekend saw me taking a break from fence painting to battle the stumps of bushes and conifers that did not want to be removed. My hands are cut and brusied but I won in the end.

Early afternoon all ...

Started early this morning to miss the searing heat that hits our front drive about now when we have weather such as we have had over the last few days. Why you ask? I was removing the driveway border edging stones! So glad that my Bosch SDS plus has a chisel mode! Each one, a metre in length, 5" deep and 2" wide lump of concrete. Heavy going but completed now. Now for a rest :¬) May go with granddaughter to the annual village carnival later. Have a good afternoon all ...

Think you deserve a break! I've been emptying out the few week old water in the swimming pool to water the plants with it. Not so easy when it's on decking and you can't get the water under the decking for fear it will make all the dirt run away. Washing up bowl and lots of effort, instead.

Hope you're enjoying the bank holiday, or as much as you can if you're having to work.

Morning all.

Seems like another sunny day. May be able to get to the beach this afternoon (despite living by the sea we hardly ever go!) and have the rest of the week off for my 'summer holiday' which will mostly involve clearing the house again and an occasional trip out.

Hope it was an ok funeral, as ok as these things can be.

Good funeral for an old work pal. He went sick in January and was wanting to get back to work as soon as possible, but as things went he wasn't able to. Bit of a loss, but he had a good send off :¬)

Day off today and have just finished cutting our front hedge ... would have been more enjoyable going to work ;¬)
