Memory Stick for PSP turned up. Another 4GB to play around with, so I'll use the 8GB for games and this one for movies and stuff. Saves carrying around a load of UMD discs.

My new connection is very solid,hasn't dropped once yet but the speeds are very poor ?.Only moved around the corner and i'm still on the same exchange ?.Was very fast yesterday morning but has been rubbish since ?.Have to see what happens when it settles down as I've only been using it for a couple of days.
Got loads on in work today,not really looking forward to it but its got to be done I suppose ?.

Morning everyone, hopefully a short day at work for me, then out in town tonight, leaving party for a friend who is off the the Marines and his girlfriend's 21st. Should be a big night!!

To me, the unions are supposed to have a good bargaining power before it gets to the situations where we have strikes. A strike means that the union has failed to negotiate.
So, like in football, when the manager seems to have failed when matches are lost, unions should get rid of their representatives if a strike is looming and hire people who can actually manage proper negotiations.

The strikes this time round are about some job cuts. The Royal Mail are only just starting to make a profit and cannot afford to waste money like they did before, especially now they are bringing in new sorting machines. These machines help process mail much faster than before (with the added bonus that birthday cards wont keep disappearing).
The union agrees their needs to be job cuts, they just cant agree where and by how much.
Either way these strikes cause a lot of problems and will generally affect the workers in the end. Some more companies are ditching Royail Mail for other carriers.

I doubt anybody can really claim their job is identical to what they were told before hand. The nature of job interviews is that all parties lie about what they are getting. And working conditions are always changing.

I think strikes are stupid - they always seem to strike, there are aspects of everyones jobs that they dont like and we would all like more money but you know what your getting in for when you take the job lol.
