Infact I was against it, but after you read the rules to what we had to secure staff security I am sure you would agree slightly.
They put it across like this. (And this was infact true) 2 guys ran into a store once, and stole 2 bottles of wine. Bear in mind that this is to the value of £11 odd. Someone saw them, so a colleague followed them. Gave chase down the street.
About 30 feet up the road he caught up..... The suspect then used the only weapon he had on him to get away. Which happened to be a bottle of wine. The guy was left with severe scarring, and the police had no evidence to convict the suspect because he had been out on the street.
So yeah, I remembered that everytime someone ran off. £11 that Somerfield can easily cover, or a severe injury to my beauttiful (arguably :S) face. You just don't know.

Yeah, sounds good. Didn't know about that. Will pop in at lunch time to see if they have some glasses. Will have to get 4 pairs if possible though.
@pb, Channel 4 are doing 3D Week, you interested?
Thanks for the reminder, we'll have to start a new Dr Who thread, though might just be you and me posting.
I should clarify that I did not refuse to sell to just anyone I thought looked dodgy. And what I did was perfectly legal.
As a retailer, and more specifically as a manager, I had an obligation to refuse service to anyone I thought might have been a danger etc. Like with alcohol, legally I am obliged to refuse service to anyone I may have suspicion about. Technically if my mind goes....(even for a moment) hang on, she might be buying for underage kids......I am legally obligated to refuse service. If I don't, I am breaking the law.
Same with fireworks.....Put it this way.
Guy walks in, hoody and tracksuit. Shaved head. He goes to me, I want this firework, I would not automatically refuse him.
Same guy walks in, clearly had a few drinks, bit "stary". I also notice he has 7-8 mates waiting outside....... I would refuse, citing that there is reasonable proof that he intends to use them in an unsafe way. This could be safely setting them off across a field somewhere, but that is against the law still......
So yeah, i don't think I deserved the whole.... "If some Warhunt refuses your kid" thing...
And onto lighter subjects...... Freeola Christmas Quiz soon.

3D glasses? For what? Is there another 3D show on? I know we've had Chuck in 3D recently with free glasses on a TV Magazine, but not heard of anything else coming up.

Haha, someone used to do that at Game. Literally at one point Forza 2 and Viva Pinata were selling at £5 a pop at Argos and we'd go and buy the lot, then trade them in (ahem...yes...only trade in...not return...honest) for £25 each. Nice way to earn £20...
Morning guys, it's awfully cold and there are fireworks lying all over the place.
What time will Sainsbury's start selling the game, and i bet they will limit to one per customer!
I spy a way to make money if you're prepared to stand in a queue...
