Dear Mr/Mrs/Ms User,
We are the GBUA, (Government Broadband User Authority), you owe us £1.50 for your last three months broadband use.
We do know that you have already paid £zillions of pounds to your provider, but we do now need you to submit this amount to us forthwith and in perpetuity, to ensure the level of your current broadband connection, regardless of the payment you have already made.
Please ensure that this payment is made forthwith and in perpetuity using the correct password and account details from which payment will be taken, this is ok with you.
Yours sinnnncerely
I A M Apratt GBUA Supervisor
.............ha ha
Got back at 4am from the party last night, then got woken up before 9am this morning.
For some reason my eyes keep closing.
This news has been doing the rounds for a few months now ;¬)
June news item/video from the BBC
The bod in the video was given a Lordship (Lord Carter) to sort all this out but quit in under a year (keeps the 'Lordship' though!).
I'm on a long line so would be happy to pay for improvements - FTTC/H (Fibre to the cabinet/home), etc. but £billions are required and this 50p tax only generate £millions
All a bit of a mess when you start looking at the details...
I believe the tories say they'll scrap it if they get in.
I can't get away from ADSL!
Just had a neighbour call round saying BT are offering him "20Mb" on our long line, back to a 'Market 1 (8128)' exchange!
I can see how people get confused when some of the people selling it either lie or don't know what they're talking about! :¬)
[s]Hmmm...[/s] Broadband Tax at 50p per month
Left me speechless, to say the least.
Why is it not cold? I'm genuinely scared.
Why did I say 2 questions when it was just the one?
