Happy to know you're enjoying your new job, good luck with that. Oh and remember to watch Naruto tomorrow, it's going to be a great episode.

Yeah I think you're right,no way the makers could milk 4/5 films out of the original idea without turning the franchise into a complete farce.Shame,as the original was a great ride IMO.Thought all that Exorcist rip off stuff in REC 2 was pants as well, didn't work at all for me.Also thought the building seemed a lot bigger than it did in the original as well ?!? :S
Suppose the makers should be partially commended for throwing some new ideas into the sequel,it's just a shame that none of them really seemed to work.
I could say one day soon, you'll have toast for breakfast. Now generally, this could be applied to anyone, but my prediction, if fulfilled, is still a true one. These mediums build up their reputation, presumably targeting the weaker people of the audience, the people who they sense have no hope in life; the people who are willing to accept anything that they say, because the medium says what they want to hear. And because they believe these predicitions are going to happen, they have no choice but to believe in the predictor, the medium. I believe this is how religion works aswell, the promise of a great afterlife, as long as you show obedience to me. Although religious scriptures are more upfront about it, I think mediums gain belief from people as a sub-product.
> 2.Pure coincidence.
But coincidences are part of the synchronisation theories...and the more you look for them in your life, the more they come up... Creating synchronicities is the base point for most magick rituals performed in the world.
I believe there are some true mediums out there, but many are fraudulent and aim to do it for money. I would believe moreso someone who came to me with true information out of the blue, than someone I had just paid £30+ to give me a reading.
I won't say I fully believe, but generally if I partake in a seance calling out experiment, I do seem to see things in a different way. On Friday's investigation, the whole darkness faded away in my vision and I saw the prison as it may have been when it was in use. I could have been imagining it, but the medium that was looking after the premesis (not taking part in any way) said he saw me "connect" to something at the time in question. But that could just be coincidence...or bull!
I don't think anyone really can pass full judgement until they have experienced the phenomena themselves and taken the facts that were available at the time of experience to make their own educated theory of what happened.
If you were a skeptic then you'd believe that Tarrot readings in general could have some valid workable theory, a sceptical point of view means you be strongly doubtful that there is anything in it at all.
Derren Brown aims to come across as a Skeptic, but sometimes takes it too far with an agenda to disprove from the start rather than an open mind to believe in the 'possibility' of something before scientifically disproving it.
I really don't like the idea of these mediums. Especially ones you see on TV. "I'm getting a... Jimmy, about 6"2" that's just too vague for me. And then they start talking about how you've got to remember, but at the same time you've got to move on, and your life's going to be great.
Our local radio tarot card reader is the worst. He never gives bad news, everything is roses for everyone who phones in. "You're going to get a new job, you're going to win the lottery, you're going to have a baby, you're going to get that new house, you're going to win the lottery too!" Lets be real, there isn't that much good luck in the world. And say one of these things was to happen, surely it would only happen because:
1.The person wouldn't want to prove the tarot reader/medium wrong because they believe in it so much, so subconsciously set out to fulfill their predicition.
2.Pure coincidence.
3.The tarot reader/medium was that vague in the first place that it wasn't really a prediciton.
The worst thing about it all is, because I'm sceptical, to me, most mediums/tarot readers know that they're lieing to these people, giving them false hope. Telling someone they'll win the lottery, and the next minute they get hit by a car. It's all very well having hope, but it's supposed to be personal, it shouldn't be someone telling you what is going to happen to you.
*thanks for the spelling mistake pb ;D*

I agree it wasn't as good as the first and bringing that bird back was laughable (plus obvious after the start...) but it was still worth a watch on a Bank Holiday evening. Although saying that, the two people I went with insisted on watching Quarentine, and not REC, before we went so my judgement was probably clouded by comparing it to the remake rather than the original!
In related news, the producers have announced both a prequal, dealing with the original infection, and a third/fourth film "finalising the story". I have a horrible feeling this may end up like the Saw franchise...
