I agree, it's absolutely ridiculous. I think people should get a limit like 2 or 3 times a year to stop people mucking about with it, but Microsoft talk of all these administrative costs, which is aload of dribble.

Anyway, I lied to them and told them I use their handy and expensive wireless adapter to try and push the case.

Anytime I have dealt with xbox support via email I just get a reply with lots of links which don't actually answer my question. You shouldn't have to pay to change a gamertag regardless of the reason.

Evening all, currently in a battle with Microsoft Support to try and get my gamertag changed for free. My current gamertag is 'IX Chow Mein XI', and I get quite alot of racist abuse from having this gamertag. The first reply I got told me to report the people who were being abusive, my argument was that I pay £40 a year to play on Xbox Live, not to report people all the time. So a second person emailed back telling me how to purchase a name change. So I've currently emailed back stating that this isn't a solution. I don't see why I should have to pay even more money to change my gamertag when I'm the one recieving unprovoked abuse. So this unreliable console and it's company are really taking the biscuit at the moment...
