Barca look to have to secured a deal in the region of 18 million, but this was extremely recent. Despite all of this, the fact remains that Mascherano is currently a Liverpool player, and he should be committed 100% until otherwise. Good riddance.
And Hodgson most definitely would have played Mascherano against City had he had the choice, but Mascherano is effectively on strike at the moment.
I thought Roy decided to drop him because his 'head was somewhere else' (or the usual rubbish excuse when someone is clearly going to move). I appreciate that's probably because he'd rather claim it was his decision rather than Mascherano's, but unless we're told otherwise it's hard to believe otherwise.

Rangers 'fans' really need to improve things. UEFA have fined Rangers in the past and they are on their last warning I think. There never used to be any bother (other than the bigotry) but it's crept back in or in the case of Manchester, flooded back in. At least there is no chance they will make Wembley so the morons won't be invading England twice in the one season.
In terms of progress, I expect Rangers to finish bottom. They were dismal last season, this is a tougher group and their £4m striker can't play. But at the moment, the money is all that counts and a couple of games against Man Utd is certainly going to help.
The rest of Scotland got knocked out which just shows how poor things are becoming. At least Craig Brown went out with style
Fisticuffs
Spur should certainly have their eye on securing 2nd place.

No doubt the City of Manchester will be delighted to welcome Rangers fans back.
