Hamilton's poor start has been put down to an "inconsistent clutch", whatever that's supposed to be, that has been a problem all season for the team.

They need to get it sorted as it must be extremely frustrating to put in so much work to get pole, only to lose it in a few seconds at the start due to a technical issue.

There's still 7 more races to go with the night race in Singapore in 2 weeks time.

Morning,

I had the pleasure of clearing up some dog mess from my front garden. Clearly it was too much effort the dog owner in question.

In terms or councils, I'm yet to see our local council cut the grass when it is not raining. I'm not sure what their policy is on mini sink holes but rain or shine, they are in no hurry to sort the potential death trap in front of my driveway. I might be building it up a bit much but no harm in a little drama.

Morning all, how are we all today?

Raining here yet again, at least it means I won't have to water the garden!

It never fails to surprise me how the council will carry on doing their jobs regardless of the weather. I've just been for a paper and there's two council workers with a handheld petrol lawnmower each mowing away in the pouring rain! The grass isn't even being cut, all they're really doing is flattening it down.

I'd have thought there could be other jobs they could be doing somewhere else that are inside and come back to the lawns when the weather is better but I suppose that's local authority bureaucracy for you!

Afternoon all.

Poor start from Hamilton let Rosberg in but at least he battled back to second.

Just 2 points between them now, this is looking like it'll be a great second half of the season!

Yeah, he really needs to work on those starts. Loved Button's overtaking today, even if he was still out of the points. Just wish McLaren had a far better car to show what their 2 excellent drivers can really do.

Plus it's still bucketing it down here.......

I'm not really surprised, he's done 17 years already and it's a gruelling schedule. He's going to be the reserve driver and help with the technical side a bit more next year. Button and Alonso are certainly one of the strongest pairings team-wise, just a pity they were never given the car they deserved.

Afternoon pb!

Hamilton had a cracking qualifying session, nearly half a second ahead of Rosberg in second and 7/10 of a second in front of Vettel in third.

Hopefully he'll get a good start tomorrow and stay there for another 25 points.

It's not stopped raining here since about 10-30am and it's supposed to be here for the day, although going by the weather forecast from about Tuesday we're supposed to be having hot weather coming from the continent so may be able to top up my tan once more this year!
