Suarez has repeatedly proven himself to be a cheat and worthy of a good smack in the face. English football has only just gotten rid of the scourge that was Ronaldo, we don't need his replacement.

The fact that that sentence just came out of your mouth (fingers) makes me question everything I know about you? 0_o

And the Suarez thing.......@ HF: Age old saying. Just because everyone is doing it, doesn't make it right.

Suarez?

I didn't know Ugly Betty's dad played football? Or was it her young gay nephew?

I think that Suarez is being targeted somewhat unfairly for that incident (An incident involving him in the Dutch league earlier this season was much, much worse). It's not the first time that this has ever happened, just so happens it was fairly high-profile. Stephen Taylor did it for Newcastle (in a match where Newcastle got reduced to 8 men, no less. And actually I think he's done it more than once). I've seen plenty of incidents where it's been done in Amateur matches and competitions (I've done it myself in an 11-a-side knockout tournament at 2-2). It's part of the game and there are punishments in place.

I actually don't think it's fair to label it as cheating, either. He didn't "get away with it". He was sent off and a penalty given and by the letter of the law that's exactly what should have happened.

I and, contrary to your results, every one I have spoken to about the incident were disgusted with his actions. Inexcusable despite any view and their are many, see below.

Although what would u have done in the same siutation? Really?

Watching the game Ghana deserved the goal easily. But negating this point is the fact that the penalty was so poor. They had their chance you could argue.

He was punished for his actions accordingly. But was he really?

What I found more disgusting than his action (which lets face it was knee jerk and rash, panicking in the spur of the moment), was him walking off in disgrace.......

......only to charge back up the tunnel/ramp, negating all FIFA rulings, when the penalty missed. His show of remorse was proved just that, a show.

What annoyed me MORE......was that he was allowed back on to the pitch to celebrate with the team and fans. And was paraded around like a hero.

How the Ghana team kept their temper in check I do not know.

Thought I'd bring up a discussion topic :)

There's rumour that Liverpool are making a bid for Suarez. I'm not happy about this as, despite the fact that he has good stats, he's an awful player, my prime example being when he purposely handballed the ball to stop Ghana progressing in the world cup. Most people I've talked to justify his handball as him 'taking one for the team'. Myself, I don't see it that way. I see it as blatent cheating. I don't see the point of setting rules in place if players consider it fine to purposely break them. If every player 'took one for the team' (ie. breaking the rules) everybody would be sent off for ludicrous tackles etc. So is it right that a player like Suarez gets his team through the world cup by cheating the other team of their place?

Bah. Your comments leave me even MORE disappointed with Maiden now......

Why should the only chance I'm ever likely to get to see them, be the one time the were awful? :(

Sad times. Woe is me and all that.

Lol sorry pete :P[/i]

No you're not,you are just getting me back for Stone Sour last year ! :P

Seriously,I'm glad you got decent tickets.I reckon it'll be a top night TBH.When I saw them and said they disappointed it was a few years back when they did the A Matter Of Life & Death Tour. They seemed strangely average (for them) TBH.They played the entire (MOLAD) album in track order with only a couple of token classics tagged on at the end.It was a seriously bad choice and even the most hardcore Maiden fans admitted that the tour was a major letdown. They got a lot of stick for that so I seriously doubt that they will ever do anything like it again.Every other time I have seen them (which is about 4 times now) they have been awesome. If I see decent tickets at a semi-sensible price I'll nab them, but I'm not holding out much hope TBH.

Morning peeps :)

The sun is out here as well. Looks very pretty but it's still freezing and frosty so I'm staying indoors where I'm very snug and warm.

Congrats on the Uni place SC (I read the news and forgot to post ><).

As per, life here is unchanged but reading about an upcoming concert at least reminds me that I'm trying to find someone to go to The Wall tour!

Actually came to the site to check my emails and WOOT! I've got a email from the Inland Revenue to say I have a refund of income tax. Sadly it's a scam. The beauty of having a brother in law to do my tax return means I know it's not for real :(

Well I'd better get back to earning more money for the Inland Rev so hope you are all keeping well, not working too hard, getting back to proper sleep patterns etc. :D
