In the present context (not a couple of days ago - 17th April 2011) try Portal first ... 'videogame king' :¬)

Afternoon everyone.
Portal 2 arrived yesterday, and i've spent yesterday afternoon/night and this morning completing the single player campaign. Now I can concentrate on revision :)
I've seen commercials for Portal 2 and I want to get it for my PlayStation 3. It looks cool but I have no idea what it's about :)
Big yellow and blue holes. That pretty much sums it up!
Actually, no, it's a very clever and well played out storyline featuring a mad computer setting you physics based tasks which all involve portals (the basic idea being you fire a portal to go through and another where you want to appear, with variations on that theme). Great voice acting and story, great action/puzzle gameplay and PS3 version has free Steam version for PC/Mac with it too.
I really need it and I see GAME are doing some trade ins to get it at £4.99 but I really don't want to get rid of my WWE game just yet.

GOW3 Beta is very good, but then I'm a fan of Gears Of War anyway. I feel this is far more accessible as a multiplayer experience though.
nabbed a code for the Gears 3 beta yesterday and gave it a good bashing last night. I've never been a fan of Gears multiplayer other than Horde but the respawn count improves things no end. I'd completed 10 games of team death match before I knew it. The AI characters are good, in a couple of rounds there were just 2 of us, 1 on each side, and the other spaces filled with droids but you wouldn't really have known.
