Have heard F1 fans blaming the Catalunya track for producing processional racing in the past, presume they never watched this race then?
Can't say I'm impressed with your case there. Bikes = not very wide. Cars = significantly wider. Catalunya in particular has a lot of fast flowing corners. You should know, being a connoisseur of all things 4 wheels, should know that current F1 spews out dirty air causing problems for the car behind to follow closely through high speed corners, leading to them being too far back in the braking areas.
Bikes on the other hand, are not affected by the dirty air problem and have it much easier through the high speed corners following each other. They also have it much easier in the overtaking areas because they are narrower. F1 cars in most braking zones are wide enough for probably a maximum of 3 cars wide while bikes would probably be close to double figures wide.
If you want to make a point about the Catalunya track not leading to processional racing, I suggest you find a link to a video which shows open wheeled cars with wings with a lot of overtaking because the bike video just highlights that bikes can overtake, which we all know they can.
There isn't one for this year as far as I know. Feel free to start one, or just discuss it here.
Thank you very muchly! Made one incase anyone wanted to go across and talk.
Have a good day everyone!
I know F1 is extremely popular and it's clear you guys enjoy it although I'll be completely honest I don't really understand why.I honestly think these Mario Kart style power ups are pretty crass TBH and certainly would not constitute racing in my book.I heard once that they were considering fitting sprinklers to the side of the track in order to spruce things up,presume this was a joke though? In recent years F1 has been as dull as dishwater with most position changing occurring in pit stops so fair play to the FIA for attempting to try and rectify that, but is this really what motor racing fans want to see? Have heard F1 fans blaming the Catalunya track for producing processional racing in the past, presume they never watched this race then? These are just my honest opinions and observations.I'm not a narrow minded bike racing fanboy as I have attended many 4 wheeled motorsport events in the past (F1,Indycar,DTM,BTCC,WRC) but I honestly think that modern day F1 is a joke.As pb said though, each to their own, apparently you guys have Monaco coming up next, another track F1 cars famously can't pass on........
