Morning,

my parent company have been talking about a 'company day' for the UK offices under the wing I am part of. Details emerged today about the day and it involves a trip to a complex in the Blackpool area. It all sounds like it could be quite good but the main concern is a 4 hour journey with some of the people I work with... it could be the longest journey ever.

Morning all.

Really sunny outside, which means my study is slowly turning into a sauna. Time to find the fan...

Tried my hand at gardening this evening with pretty terrible results. Firstly I managed to run over the power lead with my Flymo slicing it clean in half then I attempted to fix my very tired lawn with Miracle Gro Patch Magic ,don't believe the advert. 10 minutes after chucking it down my back garden looked like a scene from a certain Alfred Hitchcock film, seriously it was like I just rung the dinner bell for every sparrow within a 10 mile radius of my house. They don't mention that on the advert do they?

Stick sodium bicarbonate down at the same time and you get fireworks.

Well, that's if the fireworks are made with bird guts and are mostly red.

Most work visas are now 6 months to a year anyway, but you do usually have to have a place to go to and a contact there.

Most countries have their own online guides and the visa forms now, which you would need to fill in and send to the relevant Visa authority in London, along with 2 2x2 photos (different size to passport photos). If you're going for work then you need a letter from the person you will be working for and one from your company. If for pleasure then it should be a lot easier.

Thanks. I'm planning on leaving permanently but I'd like to spend 6 months out of the country just settling in first and obviously it'd be incredibly useful if I could actually work in that time. I've got about a year to sort it all out anyway.

Morning.

Visa photos done. Now to wait for my letter from India to come back, confirming that I'm working there, and I can send off for the visa and book flights.

I'm interested in the process of what you needed to do and what hoops you had to jump through. It's something I'm going to have to address at some point over the next year.

Going to watch Guangdong Sunray Cave vs Liverpool.

Not exactly the most exhilirating match, but I just watch to see football!

If anyone's desperate to fill there football needs, you can watch it on LFC TV.

Thought that pb was going to set up a 'football' thread after the last misunderstanding or maybe it was a hint to you ;¬)

I take it that Liverpool are at home or are you travelling to China?
