All the wit.
All the retorts.
All the time!
:D
I've just come back from a 'celebration' evening at the school, where they show parents what all the kids have been doing and have performances. My daughter did a French play and some singing in French with some class mates. Others did music.
It was pretty good overall, but the kids ended up going to bed late because of it (about 10 minutes ago) and they'll be grumpy in the morning.
My parents finally returned yesterday. Had my first proper meal in weeks last night
With comments like this SC .... I'll continue to 'speak to you as a child' now :¬(
What does happen to 'young, articulate people' when their extremely 'supportive' parents decide to leave the nest for a few weeks on holiday?
The freezer is usually abnormally over-stocked and everything is totally sorted so that the 'precious' person can survive! This is usually managed by the 'mother' of the 'precious' person before she even decides to pack any cases.
However, on return (it is good forward planning on their behalf) they know that they'll be flat broke but the freezer will still be untouched ... so at least they will eat! ;¬)
@Garin
Thanks :¬)
Oh Drag, what happened to the times that you spoke to me as a child :')
Tomorrow is St Swithin's Day (Swithun's .. Middle English) when:
"St Swithun's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St Swithun's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain nae mare"
So, weather forecast for tomorrow around here is a high of 21 and scattered showers.....rain for the next forty days then :¬( Bang goes Summer!)
Why is this pertinent, you ask? Well my mother died exactly 6 years ago on this very day....I remember it well....17.27 and she was such a 'sour person' that I'm surprised that it isn't raining now :¬D
Infact the day she died it was extremely hot all day and evening and we had fish and chips for tea as we discussed what to do next .... as we discovered later, don't die on a Friday evening!
I reckon that could be classed as team building :)
I agree. It can create trust between team members... "honestly, this roller coaster doesn't go fast or upside down".
That was my thought too Chris but sadly it looks like roller coasters aren't in the plans.

They've also returned with plans of turning the conservatory into a Greek dining area. Sounds absolutely mental, seeing as the conservatory used to be a tanning area, and is currently a gym. The gym is apparently going to be put in the loft, despite the fact I use it very often. I sense the roof will collapse under the weight.
