Afternoon all (or evening here).

BA flight to India went well, free upgrade to Business class as they overbooked. Managed to watch Thor and Battle Los Angeles and a bit of Unlimited.

Didn't get any sleep because someone was coughing all thoughout the flight, but that's ok.

Someone else at work had booked the hotel for both of us because they saw it was cheap and fairly near the office (just over 1km). Taxi driver had a job finding it though, mainly because it transpired that the hotel was up a side alley behind some rubble.

Hotel looked completely different to the pictures on TripAdvisor (though I should have realised it wasn't good from the average 2-3 star reviews), bathroom was terrible and room was in dire need of redecorating (or pulling down). At this point I hadn't slept since friday, so wasn't feeling too hot. Mentioned it to the project manager, who was online this morning, and she moved me to a new hotel pretty much right next door to the office and 5 star. They bought me dinner too, which was an added bonus.

Very happy with the set up now, should be ready to start training people tomorrow. At least it's been eventful!

Citroen C1, 08. Just something small for my first car, but I'd like it to be new enough for it to cause me as few problems as possible.

Cytec Engineered Materials up in Middlesbrough, enjoying it so far, but have to admit work is a lot harder than studenting :P

Just applied for a loan for a new car, £5000 over 1 year, not too bad but I'd rather, you know, not have to pay it back :P

Ah I see. Glad you are enjoying it! I'd rather have a shorter break to be honest. It's completely messed up my body clock and routine. What car were you thinking of getting?

Pfft, if you thought that it was bad for you, my placement year began literally 5 days after my final day of university in the previous year, which of course involves report writing and distance learning, as well as a full time job. So just be happy you got the break ;)

Oooh where was your placement?

Hi all!

Will be spending Sunday in "back to Uni" mode, ordering supplies and the many textbooks required. Beginning to understand what Sonic Chris meant about August representing the closeness of a new educational year. Keep getting emails about it too, just incase we had somehow forgotten.

Also started playing Fallout 3. Not entirely sure what I think of it yet. Oh welll... Hope you have a safe journey pb, and that everything goes well!

Thanks DL.

On the train now after an early morning Taxi. Didn't know the trains had TV and movies now.

Left my earphones at home though :(

@SC

What on earth is:

"Oh, and I have to to avoid Arial shopping powder like the plague now." :¬)

Can sympathize though SC, my eldest has to avoid any biological washing powder!

@pb

Safe journey :¬)
