I've now modified our user agreement in the user agreement notice on my forum which now says something like, that by registering on this forum you agree to receive e-mails about events or maintanence notices ect.

SR and Freeola are the owners of the service, they can send out the emails as they like.
They have put a ban on mass emails like what you're doing because people sign up to use the service to spam thousands of people about health products and free sex.
You cannot send the emails, it's as easy as that. No questions, no ifs, no buts...
Tell your other admin people that they cannot send any more emails, you send any more and you're gonna lose your account. Permanently.

Well I suggest telling your other admins not to use it, or you'll find yourself without hosting very soon if there's any truth in what the freeola mod said.

Mass e-mail is acceptable if people have agreed specifically to recieve it. When you sign up to Freeola and set up an e-mail account you are agreeing to their terms which states (somewhere I'm sure) that you will recieve their mailing list messages. You can also unsubscribe from the lists and they have to stop sending them.
If people who sign up to your forum get e-mails they haven't agreed to, or can't stop you sending them then it counts as spam.

We could say the same about freeola and sr in that case, they send out hundreds if not thousands of e-mails to their customers every week, and that's mass e-mail
and what is the point in YaBB installing an e-mail centre if they knew that people may have forums with loads of members (like I do) and their hosts would not allow them to send their Newsletters/Notices ect out
pretty pointless me finks.
I personally think it's a bit unfair of freeola telling me not to send e-mails to my members, other people have yabb forums with loads of members hosted elsehwere and they send out e-mails to their members and their hosts don't seem to have a problem with it.
However I promise to behave myself from now on.
BUT I WILL NOT and CANNOT guarrantee that e-mails will not be sent out from my forums as I have other admins that may want to use the e-mail centre.
On another note, I was told on the phone by one of the support people that my forum was not being hosted on freeola it was just a lot of gifs hosted there and that my accound was being used to somehow re-direct the site to elsewhere, but this is not the case, as I have checked with my technicians and they both confirm that the forum is being hosted on freeola, perhaps the support guy was looking in the wrong folder? I'm not bothered though.
I also appologise for any inconvinience I may have caused. PS I used up £5 odd in mobile phone credit trying to get through to a support guy.
