There's been a mixed lot of games that have been released. There's been the Supermans, the Clayfighters, the Tomb Raiders and there has been the good ones.
But will those developers ever learn?
Learn it from the companies, there's no point of releasing sequels when they are not worth buying, they should learn it from companies that know how to make proper sequels, not ones that are rushed to be released ones that use new ideas, and new ways to use the genre.

Rainbow 6 started the new kind of shoot em' up since the frag fest classic Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. Now Metal Gear Solid is lucky to find that the stealth way to shoot em' ups are very popular amongst gamers.
We cannot carry on with bringing out these below-par games, they must be learning by their mistakes by now. It's not like we usually miss these rubbish games, from the hype, the unlucky people to buy the game must be ripped off.
We don't really need a huge catalogue of great games to buy but i'd expect more from some companies.

Yeah theres been lots of good games that havent sold well, like the excellent but original "Smash Court Tennis" from Namco(PS1)....that didnt sell well. Then Namco put Anna Kornikova on the front of the sequel, which certainly helped sales!

Dues Ex had the same amount of advertising as MDk2, Thief or System Shock 2.... However Deus Ex sold by the bucket load, whilst the others, were left on the shelf...?

Remember the hype of Perfect Dark or the DC, they bought them, but they were advertised and more known in the gaming market.

Its often hard to tell if a game is any good before its released...

Remeber that Thief, Thief2, System Shock & System Shock2 had all been released before MGS, and although widly acclaimed not sold many numbers....

Equally many games that sound like a good idea on paper, stink once theve been created...

Infact its a problem that most innovative and new games styles dont sell in great numbers becouse most people dont want to gamble with 30-40 quid of their hard earned.

Equally you have games like Age of Empires, which when released gives nothing new to the RTS genre, everything in the game had /hasbeen done before... however since it was done so well, everybody loved it...
