That said, once the troops go in, I for one will be supporting them. I'm anti-war, but I'm a patriot, and only a fool would want his own nations troops to get killed. Hopefully, this is one of the last times our troops will be used to lend an air of legitimacy to an unelected oil spiv's machinations.

OR, when you forget the numerous unproven allegations made by various people with their own motivations, maybe he doesn' want them destroyed because oil is the only decent source of wealth Iraq has to rebuild itself. The country has so much that is should be another Saudi Arabia, but it's not, because of how Saddam has used it.
I'm 100% behind this now, and after last night it would seem a majority of MPs also are. When he was elected I thought Tony Blair was pretty much spineless and useless. But he's had the courage to do this, to do the right thing, and now he's being proven right. This is the only way to shift Saddam forever, and disarm him forever. Don't forget that.
Angry because this is an illegitimate war without international law waged by a warmongering fundementalist.
I am angry that our troops have been placed in danger against a country that has never posed, intitiated or supported hostility towards Britain.
I am angry because I do not want people in this world to think that the actions of this government are indicative of my own views, I do not wish to be coloured with the same brush simply for existing within these borders.
I am angry because my MP has still not replied to a letter I wrote asking why he abstained from the previous vote and why he has not undertaken to find out the views of his constituants before voting last night.
I am angry because for all this talk of stamping out terrorism, the ONLY terrorist group to have EVER initiated terrorist actions against us is the IRA yet we do nothing about them, instead spending billions to fight overseas for a pretend-war against a person who's sole existence in that region is down to the MI5 and CIA's actions to install him to oppose the Ayatollah.
I am angry because I see the public being treated like retards by the government - telling us to stock up on canned foods, bottled water and blankets in the "event of a terrorist attack", and we fall for the lies. Iraq has never, ever, not once committed acts of terrorism towards us despite 12 years of sanctions and continual bombing in "no fly zones" yet Bush, Blair and the mass media has managed to bolt "terrorist" and "Iraq" together to keep you skittish and frightened rather than angry and in the streets calling for the heads of lying, murdering businessmen.
And I am sad, because for all this talk of living in a democracy, not one single government employee has sought to ask me what I feel about sending soldiers to their death in the name of "freedom".
I'm sad because we will, again, see propaganda daily on the television and newspapers trying to whip up anti-Iraq emotions.
I am sad because despite space exploration, despite splitting the atom, despite your monthly donation to the charity of your choice, despite people trying to further our race and our boundaries, we are still living in the dark ages trying to kill each for idealogical differences.
I can say, with hand on heart, that I am ashamed to call myself British, a human being and evolved.
Damn it!
*laughs bitterly*
The schedule for war is quite alarming. Did anyone watch The Day Today when it used to be on a few years ago? There was a spoof of war coverage. Little did they know it would be all so real a few years later. The startling thing about the spoof war campaign was that it was remarkably similar to what's being shown on TV this weak. It was satire at its best...
"If the oil wells are destroyed, then we will punish you for commiting war crimes."
It seems obvious where his intents lay...
