And it's been planned so long that it's practically in the TV schedules.

That said, once the troops go in, I for one will be supporting them. I'm anti-war, but I'm a patriot, and only a fool would want his own nations troops to get killed. Hopefully, this is one of the last times our troops will be used to lend an air of legitimacy to an unelected oil spiv's machinations.

I wonder when the war against terror will include the IRA.
Currently the only terrorist group to attack Britain.

We know where they are, we know who they are. We know their leaders and we know their addresses.

Hypocrites?
Hussein has never attacked outside of his neighbourhood yet we are about to kill over there.

Anyone else think it was quite coincendental timing to arrest two (or was it three?) people near Gatwick airport for making homemade bombs?

One newspaper was reported to say recently, "Saddam will doubtless errect two rings of steel around Baghdad, the conventional army as the outer core and the Elite Republican Guard as the inner core". Yup they sure were polarised differently to our troops in the last war: as soon as we came close they were repelled without any effort. Then the magnetism changed with the ebb of war and they couldn't attract our attention us quickly enough, in order to surrender. The inner core will no doubt be shooting the outer core's retreating soilders. Classy set up non? Though I wouldn't want to be an Iraqi conscript at this moment in time.

"Remember how they kept talking about The Elite Republican Gaurd in these hushed tones, like these guys were 10ft tall desert warriors? Never lost a battle! We s##t bullets!..like these guys were the bogeyman? Well after 2 months of continous carpet bombing and not one reaction, they became simply the Republican Gaurd. Noooot nearly as Elite as we may have led you to believe. And after another month of bombing, they went from the Elite Republican Gaurd, to the Republican Gaurd to The Republican's made this s##t up about their being a gaurd, we hope you enjoy your firework show"

Ain't a whole lot changed in this world except we're older, owe more and immigrants want to kill your nanny.

So stay inside and fear those weird foreigners.

What I thought ironic, was the sheer agression and attempted violence toward the participants of the Pro-war rally in Whitehall yesterday. People should accept that this is a democracy and we are all entitled to have an opinion. This is why we have Parliament, MPs and an elected Government.

Also ironic is the repeated, and substantiated, claim that an elite unit of the Republican Guard is now armed with chemical weapons, ready to deploy them in the forthcoming battle. I'm not saying that being melted to death by some hideous chemicals is any better/worse/acceptable than being melted to death by some superbomb, and they are being provoked, but this must demonstrate the mentality of the regime. This in turn will only give credibility to Blair-Bush's stance.

I hope that the war is swift and innocent people don't suffer unduly, yet I do hope that the outcome(s) are achieved. There will be a lot of treachary uncovered and the instigators of the war will be vindicated, though castigation will be merciless if the war is proved to be folly. I also hope, for the Iraqi people's sake (and the intended victims), that there is no use of chemical weapons on allied troops as that may result in the first use of atomics in an act of warfare since 1944. I cannot imagine the precarious political scenarios that would arise from the loss of thousands of US troops to a VX attack or similar.

"Do the right thing?" Go to war WITHOUT second resolution? How is that right? When he said on national TV he wouldn't go to war without a second resolution?

> and now he's being proven right.

Proven right? HOW? IN WHAT WAY? Where's the evidence of WOMDs? Where are the terrorist links?

No, there are other ways - the SAS for example. Disarm him forever? You can bowl into a country with allegations without sufficient proof to support your claims!

Did you even read goatboy's post?

I would like to draw your attention to a post made last week where you renounced your previous hawk-attitude and were proclaiming how you realised that your groupthink, sneering attitude towards other people's beliefs negated any dormant intelligence that you may possess.

Yet here we are with you furiously jerking yourself off onto your "I LOVE BUSH AND THIS IMPENDING MASSACRE" duvet cover.
Take a belief and stick to it Bell, because your constant change/change/change marks you for a fool.

I struggle to find the words about the war with Iraq. I find the current events deeply depressing and unnerving. Goatboy said it all below. That's what I'd say if I could find the words.
