Yes, the definitive reason to like something... because if you don't you'll look sad... you do realise it's this kind of mentality that means stuff like those pop idol bands and gareth gates stay in the charts for god knows how long...
Anyway. I heard a show of the Lockup a while back with AFi co-hosting. A lot of the stuff they reccomended was all the electronic music and I must say some was pretty good. But the stuff I was most interested in was the stuff that mixed good ol' guitar work with some cool technical stuff. I think one of the bands that was played that did that was called 'your Enemies Friends'... and I think they're on the Buddyhead label... saying that, I'm off to see if I can find some MP3s...
Personaly, I don't think endless beats repeated over and over without much variation is the future of music. But still, each to his/her own.
