Gamecube On Track for 2001 Launch 11-1-01 15:36


Well, let's hope so, eh?
Apparently, an American spokeman for Nintendo has stated that Gamecube is well on track for an October 2001 release, which is brilliant news indeed. It stands to reason, then - should this be more than the usual meaningless PR nonsense-talk - that Gamecube definitely WILL make a July 2001 Japan release. Let's hope we'll be seeing Mario, Link et al in next-generation form over in the colonies this year, then...

Japan and USA release was on time, and anyway, I WASN'T SAYING SONY DON'T DO IT!! I WAS SAYING NINTENDO ARE KNOWN FOR IT!!!

I suppose the PS2 was on time, was it? No waiting for that now was there...

Somehow I don't think so. Nintendo are known for delaying (Perfect Dark), and I think that a July release in Japan may be a little earlier. This is another reason why I don't like Nintendo.


But you never know....

With that handle, they'll have no trouble delivering them should a PO take place. (PO = Pre-Order)

They are the guys distributing the games now. Nintendo UK HQ used to do that, now hopefully they will be back.

Do you remember that article on one of the websites? It said that the company that distributed all of Nintendos merchandise etc in the UK had quit and that Nintendo had setup office in surrey.

I think that because there are now an official big 'N' HQ in the UK that they won't be as disregarded as they once were, I think this is a step up for us Nintendo fans!

I think we will be seeing shorter release dates now the connection between Japan - America - and Europe are strenghtening.

I believe nintendo are making sure that the launch in Europe is quite soon after the launch in Japan, there have good reasons for this, but I cant post them up can I?
