As you can see, no less than 6 drivers will be making their debuts this season. Last years champion, Panis, has joined Toyota and last years runner-up, Frentzen, has joined Sauber. Arrows, last years runner-up in the Constructors championship were bought out and were renamed after the late great Ayrton Senna.
We start off the season in Australia, where we saw how close the season would be last season.
Last season saw the entire 22 cars split by just over 3 tenths of a second, the top 6 being within a tenth of each other. It was Alex Yoong in the Minardi that got pole last season with a time of 1m26.818s. Yoong's strength last season was qualifying, snatching 3 pole positions. Unfortunately for Yoong this time round, he won't be making it 2 in a row as he doesn't have a drive for this season. Panis will be hoping to improve on 6th place on the grid this time round as he tries to defend his title.
Qualifying was bone dry last year but the race was a wash out. There were cars spinning all over the place but it was Mark Webber who came out on top with a flawless drive to win for Minardi. Mark Webber made it a Minardi race but making the fastest lap of 1m36.956s. Can Webber make it 2 Australian Grand Prix wins in a row?
Top 6 finishs last season (Qualifying position in brackets):
1st Webber (4th)
2nd Bernoldi (5th)
3rd Button (8th)
4th Yoong (1st)
5th Raikkonen (11th)
6th Trulli (9th)
Lap records:
Qualifying - 1m26.818s - A Yoong
Race - 1m36.956s - M Webber
I hope everyone will enjoy the new season ahead of us!
(If you want to know how your driver did in this race last season, ask me.)
Hope all goes well when it starts!

Well, Clever about that :) But say Webber 'Won' once Last season, I'm asking how did he achive his win in a race.
Was much better than I thought he'd be.
And now I've picked Montoya, who'll probably do terribly, knowing my luck.
Come on Grandprix, we can beat them all. :-P
