I would wait for the AMD hammer chips to come out as they have the sse2 instructions on them for much better multimedia performance, i used to have an AMD xp 1800 CPU but because i do a lot of DVD converting i got myself a 2.2 Pentium 4 and have clocked it to 3 ghz, this is so much better for converting mpeg4 to divx, basically my xp1800+ took from 6 - 8 hours to convert a film to divx and my Pentium 4 does it in 2/3rds of the time the film is, but pound for power AMD win hands down.

Any Intel is a waste of money. If I had that kind of cash I'd buy an XP2800 and a Prometia.

Even at that very few things can use dual processors.
Waste of money anyway. Wait and in a few years it will be a lot cheaper and also may actually be useful.

Once again, Dual processors don't work like that, they do not double the amount of ghz you have only allow double the amount of things to be processed at one time.
