I know you must get this alot on your forum from new pc gamers who know **** all about pc's but here goes. Will Half life 2 work with a radeon X300 SE Hyper memory graphics card?

A geforce 6600 is twice as good in most benchmarks, i'd get one of them if i were you, unless you have already wasted your money.
in HL2 512mb = medium textures.
Also, your card uses HyperMemory, which is a marketing gimmick way of saying "it's a 16mb card but uses 256mb of sys**tem memory ins**tead of having proper VRAM" (the nvidia equivalent is TurboCache and it's more effective because HM is a software solution whereas TC is hardware). It's a low-clocked, budget 4-pipe graphics card.
In general, 'SE' means 'sh*t edition'.

It's pretty low spec card though, even a geforce 6200TC shows it up.
