http://valve.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3143168 some of you will know it all already but it gives some good information and a 5 minute video from the developers.

HL2 used other methods to get the effects but HDR wasn't in source at all till DOD:S and DOD:S runs a cut down version of TLC's HDR because nazi's didn't have DX9 cards in WW2.

HL2 does use a little HDR here and there, but not fully. Only silly things like the flashes off the floating cameras etc, but you do notice it. DoD looks awesome with full HDR.

Looking forward to getting home tonight and throwing this at my 3700+/7800GTX/2GB DDR. Screenies to come.

It's not an expansion, it's more of a tech demo. LC came about when the developers decided to create a level with no hardware constraints to hold them back. This was the result.

Aftermath is the planned expansion to HL2 which will run for everyone.

Think its pretty stupid to release a new expansion to all HL2 owners which have so much higher required spec than HL2.

Well lost coast is really short but then is it just an example of the new HDR features.

Bloody pretty wish they would make all the released Source stuff use it.

Thats set everything to max, AA x4 and AF x2 full HDR, i was getting around 30-40fps normal 20-35 in fights.

Specs for lost coast are:

2.9Ghz processor (i only have a 2.4Ghz but it ran ok)
1 gig ram (i have 1280)
directx 9 video card (i have Geforce 6800GT at ultra speed)

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Many thanks!!
Registered my website with Freeola Sites on Tuesday. Now have full and comprehensive Google coverage for my site. Great stuff!!
