Saddam Hussein - "murderous despot" "tyrannical terror" "evil dictator". The USA & UK want to remove him from power, to free the people of Iraq and to stop his "demented regime".

So why have Rumsfeld and Jack Straw come up with the idea of "immunity from prosecution should Saddam step down and leave".
Isn't the point of this whole thing to stop him, to prevent him ever being able to threaten world peace again?

The writing posted in my other account is firstly hardly likely to provoke any kind of reaction I cannot handle myself, given that it is essentially harmless and totally inoffensive. Secondly, the writing in my second account can harldy be used to hide myself, given that, for a start, the staff can see at a glance that it's me - both the e-mail address and password give it away very easilly - and also for the whole "login" antics.
Personally, I'm only using this forum as a break between decent ideas. The Half-Life threads will pop up maybe once a week for the next few months. It's actually quite a long story, and I have no problems with anyone knowing that it is me who writes it.
But I'll tell you why I used a different account - to see if ANYONE would read it properly. With me, Insane Bartender, I could guarantee that it would be read, but as some nobody, as I greatly suspected, it was ignored.
Not that that is a problem for me, since the whole idea behind the experiment was to investigate how much "reputation" leads people's eyes.
I'll carry on writing, and I'll carry on using two accounts, just as you'll carry on banging your head against the wall exclaiming how much you hate all the duplicity in the world and impotently battling against it all.
Such is life. Though personally, I believe that already this year I have made myself a better person through a renewed mindset and outlook on life. I have renewed my ambitions, and am taking steps to achieve them. I have little to complain about, a fact I've ignored for the past year.

Nothing, I'd guess. And nor could you. Even if you hate the government, there's nothing you can really do about it. You won't even get a realistic chance to vote against them for a few years yet, and even then, you're battling uphill against a country populated by media driven lemmings.

In a media driven world, the general population is not unlike most women. If they hear anything which could be taken two ways, one of which is both bad and the incoreect way to take it, then the woman will flawlessly choose the bad option every time, and start jumping up and down like a lost kangaroo.
So, while it's all well and good to point out your stunningly marvelous insights into the governments shadowy shenannigans, your efforts are generally wasted and someone as gifted as yourself should really point your talents elsewhere, where they might be of more use.

It's probably the trump card they've been planning for ages. Threaten a massive military buildup on Saddams doorstep with the blatant intention of removing him, then offer him a cosy retreat in Benidorm so no-one has to get killed. Very hypocritical of them, but it'll save lives.
