Ok, whatever.
So why have Rumsfeld and Jack Straw come up with the idea of "immunity from prosecution should Saddam step down and leave".
Isn't the point of this whole thing to stop him, to prevent him ever being able to threaten world peace again?
Why let him go elsewhere then, with zero comeback?
"You're evil Hussein"
"No I'm not"
"Yes you are, we're going to stop you"
"No you're not"
"We will. You must be stopped"
"Why?"
"You're evil"
"So kill me"
"Alright....actually, you could just go somewhere else and we'll leave it at that"
"But I thought I was evil?"
"Yes but if you leave, we can install a pro-Western leader and use Iraq as a foothold into The Middle East"
"What, like you did with me before?"
"Yep"
"Hmm....nope"
I get confused with all the new options.
Sure, he shouldn't have immunity whatsoever, but if he did accept this - which he won't - how many lives would it save ? A lot. Incidentally I reall don't see the problem of installing a western friendly government into Iraq as long as it still represents ALL the people of Iraq, unlike Saddam.
It's time to be realistic, nobody wants an anti western regime in a place that could control a large proportion of the world's oil reserves. The very same oil that allows Saddam to fund his military and weapons programmes. Remember that oil is not just linked to car use, but also to power generation in general, often where there is little other option to generate that power...then again we could always build us some Nucler Power Plants to add to the ones we have.....

And you should get in a big nappy, sit on a soapbox, waving a rattle in one hand, and a copy of the Daily Mail in the other.
Nobody's perfect.
You should form a nu-metal band and earn money through your anguish.

I don't recall attacking you, but if you're referring to the "flaming hand" remark, I guess I didn't make it obvious enough that I was being sarcastic.
I doubt it would make any difference how obvious I had made it though. People don't read what I write, they read what they want to think I have written. Back to the old two ways to read anything hypothesis.
Touch ma butt
Anyway off for another tea break before filling out another job app form.
Urm right going off thread, er bad man in Middle East, is a big naughty beast, his nation is rising like yeast, so I like him the least. Except for the Mail and Bush.
