I downloaded it and had a go, feels a bit flakey, more like a PS1 game than the solid games like doom 3 and half-life 2.

I know, but the original dooms were all about firing wildly in every direction.

Nah doom 3 was all about atmosphere; Serious Sam is about firing wildly in every direction.

Had a quick go. Seems like everything Doom 3 should have been.

Very good fun.

Yes, I know.

I have played Doom 3 co-op among others.

Just demonstrating that while invincibility is no fun, infinite lives can be fun.

Yes, hence the: 'one-step from'.

Well, you still die with infinite lives. The fun comes from surviving a particularly nasty wave. With invinvibility, you could just stand there and punch for half an hour.

Demo and a few mates for a single level yes. Full game? nope. I wouldn't.

I can't say I was ever cautious on the first game, as long as you're shooting things you're alway gonna be getting more lives. It's not like any of the enemies take much damage anyway, even the tower block sized monsters so down after a couple of rockets.

Infinite lives sounds more like Speshul Sam than Serious.

Can you not just specify a ridiculous number of lives to at-least give the appearance of a challenge?

It seems like one-step from playing with an invincibility cheat on.

Brilliant! As usual the careful and intuitive production that Freeola puts into everything it sets out to do, I am delighted.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
