I've started using Kazaa Lite more and more and getting bit worried about security, can you suggest a firewall and virus detector (either shareware or paid for product).

I would disagree with this statement entirely. Firewalls aren't miracle-cures, but they can section off a lot of services that shouldn't be available to the internet. Zonealarm is a pretty good free firewall, although it comprehensively screwed over my LAN when I had it.
And if you have a need for a virus checker, then you are the weakest link. Viruses *never* get on your system without you allowing them there, unless someone hacks your computer and physically uploads a virus (no virus checker can prevent this). As long as you're careful about what you download and what emails you open, then you are safe from viruses and have no need for a virus checker. Which is just as well, because 9 times out of 10 they're nasty pieces of software which screw your system over in some way.
