Back to the game.

I found some of Fergie's substitutions quite odd.

Did anyone else give out a big groan when he brang Blanc on?

Few seasons back we would have finished a game like that with 4 strikers up there. But Fergie decided to take Giggs and Forlan off...Perhaps they were mainly ineffective in the game, but Giggs is always capable of producing a moment of genuis and Forlan has showed that recently too.

Yeah, but at least Henry doesn't look like a horse. Runs like one though! :-)

Graeme Souness claimed that Blackburn's 1-0 win against Manchester United was a reward for his game plan.

Garry Flitcroft scored the goal that ended United's eight-match winning run.

Souness told Sky Sports: "We've often got punished in end-to-end games so I wanted us to try to win the ball on the halfway line - and for the largest part it worked.

"Garry (Flitcroft) likes to knock a few people over and he wasn't doing it in the first half - but he did in the second and we started to get more of the ball.

"We feel our football has been good this year but today we had a game plan - maybe we need to concede more ground to teams. It worked today."

Well, Keane and Becks have only just come back from severe injuries and are trying to find their feet again and you cant automatically assume that throwing some big players into a team and it will win you games. United played well in the first half and the problem we had was we couldn't score - it was an off day for the strikers and having just had a 8 game winning run, I for one will just regard this as an off day. Blackburn is never an easy game, and Utd dominated them in the first half and periods of the second half, Blackburn have also beaten Arsenal at Highbury which is a major achivevement in itself. I for one am looking for them to bounce back in the next game, but lets just hope that recently returned keane and becks are not introduced too early or we will face a similar blip that Arsenal faced by bringing back Pires and Ljungberg earlier than they needed to.
