A copy of the match video has been requested by the FA, who will study Keown's apparent push in the Dutchman's face in an off-the-ball incident during Arsenal's defeat.
"We can confirm that The FA has requested a copy of the video from the weekend's Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Arsenal," said a statement on www.thefa.com.
"This is to consider an incident involving Arsenal's Martin Keown and Manchester United's Ruud van Nistelrooy.
"The FA will consider the incident before deciding whether the matter will be referred to the video advisory panel."
Rio Ferdinand got only a Yellow Card earlier in the season for just clipping someone round the ear - of-the-ball... So surely Keown deserves worse as his off-the-ball incident was worse.
I have a feeling Ruud van Nistelrooy may at least get a talking too also.
Keown's a dirty, hard-tackling player and-all, but I never would've even expected anything like this to have come from him!
I guess United were just too much for him on the day! :D

It looked like a fist to me, and even if it wasn't, the palm of the hand is equally capable of hurting someone, if not more so, than the knuckles. Never heard of the shaolin iron palm technique?

It was an open-handed push from what I saw. A punch is when you make a fist and swing it. Therefore, it's a push, not a punch.
He shouldn't have raised his hands at all, but still, it was not a punch.
Last time I looked, pushing someone's face with your fist at speed is punching someone. Just because Keown isn't Lennox Lewis doesn't mean he doesn't have the same intent.
He punched him.
