Obviously when january arrives even Man utd will have a limited budget.

The best signings i thnk they could make would be:

Forssell: young, proven quality, hasn't played in Europe this season due to injury. Just the understudy they really need to have up front for the future. (obviously i would not be best pleased if this actually happened)

(10 mill-ish)

Dawson from forest, or Lescott from wolves: Both very talent CBs not the finished article admittedly but their values will only go up, along with their skill leaving united sorted at the back for about 10 years with ferdinand. (8 mill or 6 mill)

Andy van der Meyde: Good solid player cheaper replacement for Veron (when need as cover in the centre, and can cover for beckham to) (7 mill)

Rustu: One of the most reliable keepers around who isn't at a huge team. contract is expirin so should be fairly cheap and a mile better than the joker in goal at the moment. (3 mill)
Sell:

Veron: undoubtedly good player but not really needed (oly during this rare injury spell) raise money for more neccessary transfers. (19mill)

Brown: As most Man Utd supporters will probably admit, he is a bit over rated and so injury prone, should be sold while his transfer value is still high. (8 mill)

Barthez: a couple of good displays recently. Still utter crap (6 mill)

This would regenerate the united side, and actually make them more of a lasting threat. I think Fergie is going to retire and wants to 8ugger up the team before he leaves so his successer looks worse, so he probably won't bother.

Forssell?!

£10M?!

Gotta be a joker.

Barthez made the save of the season yesterday, and has hardly put a foot wrong this season.

There has also been a lot of interest in Robert Earnshaw, who is currently prolific in the 2nd division for Cardiff.

Figures of £6million have been thrown around.

However, I doubt Cardiff will be foolish enough to let him go at any price.

Wes Brown has looked pretty good on his comeback, and a solid performance against Liverpool away wont do his confidence any harm either, I don't think he is really gonna sell anyone - I doubt he could ever admit to making a mistake in purchasing Seba Veron, he is likely to recruit a striker to back up the 3 we have at the moment and possibly a versitile defender, I think he is still going to follow up his interest for Escude, but in terms of striker im really not sure what he has in mind. Di Canio would have been a bargin at £2 million, but I don't think he is likely to go for that option because he is getting on now and they would probably not offer him a 2 yr deal, which I believe is what Paolo wants. Some interesting news in the media today about Salas being unsettled, he 3rd choice behid Di Vaio and Del Piero and he wants firt team action - I know Sir Alex has been an admirer of Salas for a while now and maybe a deal can be done? - who knows.

Sell Brown? FOOL!

Sell Barthez? He's back to his best form recently - the form of a world class player.

I know fergie is eyeing up Ricardo Quaresma, apparently worth up to 10mill. Beyond that, who he'll buy is anyone's guess.
