Obviously when january arrives even Man utd will have a limited budget.

The best signings i thnk they could make would be:

Forssell: young, proven quality, hasn't played in Europe this season due to injury. Just the understudy they really need to have up front for the future. (obviously i would not be best pleased if this actually happened)

(10 mill-ish)

Dawson from forest, or Lescott from wolves: Both very talent CBs not the finished article admittedly but their values will only go up, along with their skill leaving united sorted at the back for about 10 years with ferdinand. (8 mill or 6 mill)

Andy van der Meyde: Good solid player cheaper replacement for Veron (when need as cover in the centre, and can cover for beckham to) (7 mill)

Rustu: One of the most reliable keepers around who isn't at a huge team. contract is expirin so should be fairly cheap and a mile better than the joker in goal at the moment. (3 mill)
Sell:

Veron: undoubtedly good player but not really needed (oly during this rare injury spell) raise money for more neccessary transfers. (19mill)

Brown: As most Man Utd supporters will probably admit, he is a bit over rated and so injury prone, should be sold while his transfer value is still high. (8 mill)

Barthez: a couple of good displays recently. Still utter crap (6 mill)

This would regenerate the united side, and actually make them more of a lasting threat. I think Fergie is going to retire and wants to 8ugger up the team before he leaves so his successer looks worse, so he probably won't bother.

Agreed, £19 million for Ronaldinho would be one of the seasons biggest bargains.

You will get Forssell off CHelsea............hopefullly...............well not for a measly 10mill.

Cudicini's save from redknapp's free-kick was better than barthez's from hamann

If West Ham tumble into Nationwide oblivion this season (and it looks probable at the moment) then you can bet your bottom dollar that Fergie will get Joe Cole's signature.

I've noticed that usually, Fergie doesn't buy players with big egos, so thats Ronaldinho out. I think they need a real world class defender, but its difficult to think of one off the top of my head that doesn't have a big ego. But all in all I reckon they need another world-class striker. I mean Solskjaer is ok, but better as a late substitution, as when he comes on when others are tired he is excellent.

We may apparently be short of funds now, but we're still waiting for the remaining cash Lazio still haven't payed-us from the Stam deal.
They say they have, but United say they haven't...

What a coincidence though - Martin Edwards announces he'll be gone at the end of the season, and then United are asking Lazio for the rest of the money, right-after Lazio had apparently payed it to them...

I know where it's gone... Edwards and his "fun" in the lands of the 3rd world countries! It makes sense, really!! And he's using his resignation as an escape from it all to sneak-away without anyone-else realising!

I just hope we tie-up the Escude deal so our defence we'll be strengthened for the remaining part of the Champions' League. I'd also like to see another striker brought-in too. And I also think that after recent games, it's clear that Fergie needs to start looking for someone who can back-up both Butt and Keane in that defensive-midfield role. Or maybe we could play Rio there, and bring-in a new centre-back to play along the back?
