I was suprised at just how little time that took me to do :o).
Although, for now, I think I'll stick with tables, as it's what I know ... but I'm certainly going to give all this CSS a lot of interest.

It caches it, it's only text and it only downloads it once, it adds absolutley nothing to the final page size after it has finished loading. It reads once and once only. Think about it logically, if it affected the final download, poeple wouldn't use it. It's not different that using a huge external JS/PHP/ASP file!

It gets read when it's changed. You browser says "Hey server, what's the last modifed date on this large CSS file?" If the date is newer than the one it has stored in its cache, it gets downloaded, else it uses the existing one in the cache.

How often does a CSS file get read? I mean, im presuming although there are links on each seperate page to the same CSS file, it only gets read once, right?
Tyla's CSS file was 14k when i looked at it, that seems pretty big to be opened every time a different page gets loaded. See what Im getting at? On the LAN here it flies along, but its a big file for a wee 56k modem.

Z-index is one of the most interesting parts of CSS I'll give you that!
