-The rather annoyed Rav
But most of the others are about £2 cheaper. Well, the few PS2 games I looked at, anyway.
If I'm honest, that small a difference won't tempt me to stray from SR. If it were £5 or more, maybe.
Rav
Have you checked at the Post Office???, theres a big backlog of mail and parcels right now, due to the floods, railways being repaired etc... The fault probably lies with the post. So theres no guarantee www.simplygames would be any better under these conditions.
So check the post office, and then write a hand written letter to SR (They always get more attention than a E-mail), Im sure then youll come to some solution to your problem.
If Ali said he sent more emails then I think he did because otherwise you could have him or Special Reserve for libel!
Anyway Simplygames is another company and the reason why their prices are lower must be due to the fact that they can't afford to do gameaday! Gamaweek doesn't sound as appealing!
Wow first class delivery! What does a few days make? It makes me want to play the game even more that I appreciate it!
I use Special Reserve because they've never let me down! It's easy to order on and offline and it would be even better if they had a shop in Cardiff cos I'd love to see their wide range of Nintendo software!
I've been here virtually since ukdiscussions was set up and I've never seen anyone moan about their service as much as you! Ok, I remember a time when I moaned about not winning and the one-timers always winning and it's still partly true but Special Reserve are doing this for a reason! To attract more customers so Special Reserve can improve their services!
Now you are moaning due to a wait for your game, well try sitting a two hour exam finishing with 45 minutes left with only a watch to keep you occupied! I did today and it was boring! I've got more exams next week and the week after and I'm not looking forward to them! But does that mean I'm gonna go to the teachers and say, "Hey, I clearly finished *** ago why can't I leave before anyone else?"
My second game that I won came after about 3 weeks and I didn't say much, I posted a calm message just to remind Special Reserve in case they forgot to stick it in the post!
If you're that worries about your game, do as Ali said and write a letter to Special Reserve saying that Royal Mail have lost your game. Then Special Reserve can do whatever is neccesary!
Stop compainging Ravioli!
And by the way my name's not Edge!
Ali please post the emails on the board giving the exact time and date they were sent out!
I believe you Ali as you are representing the company when you send emails and companies certainly don't send any emails saying "tough luck!"
I think that if Rav or whatever his name is should go to the British Trading Standards Commission if he thinks he's hard done by so he can be told he's in the wrong especially for posting his message on here!
Maybe your email server is rubbish rav! Have you considered that! I had FSmail and they were so bad!
Basically Rav, Ali is doing everything he can to see that your game arrives! I reckon it's stuck on a slow moving train or you've had a local postal strike like we have in Cardiff! And remember there have just been floods so that will cause delays whilst repairs to facilities are taking place!
With all companies you need something in writing for legal reasons so that it can be used for legal reasons!
But Rav why complain? You've won the game! My brother ordered The World Is Not Enough for N64 and was ment to get it today but he hasn't emailed rubbish about how bad the Special Reserve company is!
Special reserve are a very competative company and I bet there are games cheaper on this website than on the one you mentioned! I know you can get some games cheaper elsewhere but it is coming up to christmas and companies do have sales!
Just be happy that you've won! Special Reserve make you pay a membership fee because they send out a quality magazine full of offers for more than just games! There are also competitions (like gameaday) which probably cost a lot to run! Can you imagine how much money Special Reserve would have saved if they didn't do Gameaday? Almost £250 a week (depending on what the winner chooses)
I'd like to see you do a gameaday service Rav!
Anyway keep up the good work Special Reserve! And I can't wait for the game I ordered which should arrive in a couple weeks and my brother says that he hopes his bond game arrives soon!

This is pretty much rubbish...
I have only received ONE email about the status of my game (about 2 days ago), despite sending multiple emails. I do acknowledge that the parcel is lost by Royal mail, and appolagise for the title of this topic. However, what did annoy me some what was that the email you sent you said (and I quote):
"A very small percentage of our stock gets lost in post,
and there really is nothing else we can do. Sorry!"
Now is it just me, or does this sound like you are powerless to do anything about my game??? Since this was the last statement in your email (let me remind you it says "there is nothing else we can do") it does sound this way. Now, although you did say that I could write to the magazine before this, you DID NOT say that you would send another game free of charge! (instead saying "There is nothing else we can do. Sorry!"). You obviously have not read your own email! So here it is:
"Sorry, but your game was depatched ages ago, at least 2 weeks back. It
sounds to me that your game has become lost in the post. Phone up your
local post office and check to see if they are holding any parcels for you,
if not, then write a letter to the customer service address in our magazine
stating that your prize has not arrived and your Post Office aren't holding
anything for you. A very small percentage of our stock gets lost in post,
and there really is nothing else we can do. Sorry!
Alistair Gray
Special Reserve"
Had you ommitted the last sentance and said that the company could actually do something, I would be far less annoyed. Also, I'd love to see these email you have sent me... because I have only had the one above!
-Rav
We all know it's frustrating waiting for things to arrive through the post - especially when they go missing. It's happened to me on more than one occasion, but never where SR are concerned. But ranting at Ali and SR is not the answer.
Also, trying to make them look bad on these forums, where 99% of us know that SR actually provide an *excellent* service, certainly doesn't win you any friends or sympathy.
It's not like they've ripped you off by charging you £40 and then deliberately not sending out the game.
It has obviously become lost in the post, and if you read my e-mail again, you will see that I said you should check your post office and then send a letter to us saying that your game has gone missing. WE WOULD THEN SEND YOU ANOTHER GAME, AGAIN FREE OF CHARGE. If you read my e-mails properly then you would understand this. We cannot send you another copy of the game until we have something in writing - it's company policy. Write a letter to the customer service department explaining what happened and only then can we send out another copy.
Thank you for your time.
