Not sure if you found the story, but apparently, someone from Nintendo, (Possibly wearing a Microsoft/Sony uniform?), told a magazine that the Gamecube is being delayed for a year, because it is "much more difficult to program than expected".

I can now reveal that...

It was utter ballocks.

This was announced by Nintendo, not in those very words, obviously, a few days back.

And for all those that didn't know, Nintendo re-announced the deadline of October 2001 for Gamecube in America.


Now, lets have a think.

Nintendo want to sell Gamecubes, yes?

When do consoles sell the most? Christmas.

How long after normally does a console launch in Britain after America? A few months.

You do the maths. : )

Like them or hate them, realistically Pokemon kept Nintendo a significant force in the industry and hand quite an influence in keeping the N64 alive through christmas. Don't be a hater, even if you don't particularly like the fluffy little rodent, pikachu hasn't done anything to HARM anyone, live and let live, and remember, nobody can FORCE you to play pokemon, so just ignore it.

I read, on a non-gaming related site, that it was THE that finished the deal with Nintendo, rather than the other way around, as they feel that the market is no longer a secure one to be involved in.

And are you including the game Pokemon as crap, or just the spin-off junk?
