Right, getting broadband next week.

Appreciate it if someone could tell me how to hook up two PCs to the modem? What cables do I need to buy etc...

Thanks in advance.

You need to give them both hostnames and IP addresses, look in the Network options. I recommend 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2 for IP addresses - use .1 for the one with the Internet connection. Hostnames you can make up yourself.

Yeah, I order stuff from them. However, if you go to extremecooling, they sell at the same prices (exactly) as Tekheads but without postage and packaging. Only problem is they don't sell everything Tek do, only the choicier products - products that don't cost as much to post and products they can make more profit form :)

Still *damn* cheap though.

You know you can get a Linksys 4 port router for about £60 from a certain well known online book retailer. Add £10 per NIC card and a couple of quid for the cables.

I've got one of these routers and we share our broadband in our house on it (4 users). Obviously, it also lets us play LAN games against each other too.

Wireless is hugely expensive and not as fast as wired. Last time I looked I was looking at almost £200 to replace my £30 network.

And Scan are good, I've used them a lot.
