Also, at £170.00, the GameCube would easily be value for money against the PS2 and X-Box. Nintendo also stated that they brought the price down worldwide because they had reached mass production, and could then get the parts cheaper. Of course, this was still to make money ultimately, but when they could have matched the price of the PS2, or brought it down just a little bit more, I respect them for doing so.
I wouldn't say no to a price drop, and the fact is, I probably won't buy a game in that week anyway, but if an AAA title (as they're called) is released, it won't stop me buying it. A petition however, I will sign.
Oh and Maverick, The site is in the main thread of this post :)

Stunned
I can't beleve your saying this! I know what your really mean, you don't want this to affect nintendos sales, they are so good to you arn't they?
A load of bull.
Nintendo are JUST LIKE Microsoft. They want your money, and decisions are made because of market situations. You are an idiot if you think Nintendo put GC at £130 because they could, that wasn't their plan at all! They wanted to launch at £170 but went Xbox dropped to £200 it was clealy seen that GC really wasn't good value in relation to PS2 and Xbox.
Nintendo will be just fine after the week of Boycotting is over. It is a way for us as consumers to get fairer prices for what we are buying. So games(MGS2) cost loads to make but would sell even more it they were at £20 to £30.
You are defending multibillion pound corporations, its not in your intrests. Companies like EA will get more money every time a game is sold. Gee its only a week. Show you want fairer prices for games!

It would prove that we cared.

Yeah there is a petition to sign up to, You don't HAVE to do the boycott..
If there's a vote or something, I'll chip in, and say cheaper games are great, but I'm not going to take part in a boycott. I have better things to do, and some companies just don't deserve it.
What's the point in that?
Take a "strike" at work for example, people strike the day off, but the next day they go back in again....
