I like them, haven't really given them a proper listen but I know what I like and what I don't like and so far all the tunes are good tunes.
Would be interested in a full album.
Beautiful to Me = The intro is my favourite part of the song, guitar riff followed by drums kicking in is great. Vocals are good, need a bit more emotion. Doesn't seem to be a chorus really? It's good... more of an album track I guess. It's good foot-tapping song... who shouts at the end?
Looking Out = Sounds like a single... I always love a bit of strings and adds well to the song. I find the vocals droned out a bit in music as I like to hear strong vocals through music. Yep I like it... catchy tune and strings make it much better. Ending is good, was expecting it just to fade away with same tune. Impressed
Mrs Jones = Another good intro, guitar rocks. Chorus is excellent, something that lacks in other two. Vocals much more upbeat etc. Plinky piano over song (wasn't there last time I heard it, good). Yep chorus is top. My favourite song

Anyway, I heard Mrs Jones like last year and really liked it, still my favourite out the three.
I think the intro's to all three songs are good. Beautiful to Me lacks a bit of emotion or chorus, Looking Out is good, lacks a bit. Like Mrs Jones
It sounds very professional as well.
If I didn't like it I'd say... it's the sort of band I'd hear a few songs and then buy their album when it's down to a fiver.
Nothing 'absolutely amazing' but so much better than the crap out now.
Reminds me of Ocean Colour Scene/Blur
Also you are offciallly 'dad rock' as my dad heard a bit when he came in room and dis usual " That's good, who is it ".
Good luck
. And a Theremin I played.
heh - Jean Michelle Goatboy - Hasn't quite got the same ring to it..
It's not a serious song, just something we always play live and goes down a storm. Has definite Blur overtones to it. It was one of the 1st songs written, you can tell the difference in song writing if you listen to a bunch of old Parker stuff compared to new.
The older stuff has "Britpop" leanings (Mrs Jones, Saints & Cynics, Whatever Wherever Whenever) whilst the newer stuff (Looking Out, Beautiful to Me, Lost in Vain) has developed into what I would now call more our own style - a softer, less bouncy "Oi Oi!" style.
And you've no idea how much I had to fight to get that Hammond on there, was just the piano originally.
If I can and if folks dont get sick of it, I'll bring 1 more in tomorrow for uploading "Lonely Hearts" - more like Looking Out with some sexy saxaphone on. And a Theremin I played. And a mellatron.
I like the chorus, its certainly the best part of the song. The verses are failing to do it for me - I think its the combination of guitar and paino.. eurgh I hate to say it but it reminds me of 'Great Escape' era Blur.. infact some of the lyrics reminded me too (did I hear 'apples and pears' in there somewhere?) but you redeem yourselves in the chorus and the wurlitzer (or whatever keyboard it is) is a great addition.
Again, only my opinion.
Goaty - out of the kindness of his heart has e mailed a version of Mrs Jones which actually has sound and that has now been uploaded.
So back there and listen to music instead of three minutes of silence.
People are always surprised when they see us, they assume it's a typical "mate's band" of blokes having a laugh and doing covers of Nirvana songs etc.
I know I mong about here and stare at lesbians all day at work, but as far as my band is concerned, it's 100% serious and dedication.
Rehearsals every Monday night for the past 2 and a half years, endless gigs and the past few months in the studio.
And you lot are the *only* people outside of the 3 other band members and the producer to have heard this stuff as it should be. Not live (good fun but not the best medium for actually listening to songs), but properly produced and mastered, final-package Parker songs.
Yer comments are appreciated and nobody has to pretend to like them, I'm a big boy and can handle someone saying "Nah".
Looking Out is the one that'll get us signed, we're so close we can touch it and you'll be hearing that on the radio by early next year.
I gaurantee it. And you can say "Yep, heard that way back in Oct when he leaked them".
Excellent, a band member leaking his own songs onto the web
Now THAT is rock.
Hate to sound like I'm agreeing with everyone else here, but it really is good stuff.
> Has, as Craw said, a tap delay on the vocals - we wanted an early
> sound to it, nothing over-produced or too flashy.
See, I rock.
