Yes

No, she checked it the way she thought it needed to be checked, and she thought it was fine. However, she hadn't actually checked it properly at all, So I asked her to do it properly, she stoutly and steadfastly refused, and hung up on me.

Neither is the case, since I didn't start the shouting, she did. She was just the first to start pasting it on the forums.

In any sane view of the world, perhaps. Hev's view of the world is often somewhat different.

Just browsed through the topic and from what I read, (may need to be corrected on this)
He asked you to check the card, you checked it the way YOU thought you had too. He went mad and said this to you because HIS memory card was broke.
Ok.
Either he was just looking for an excuse to shout at you, get mad and walk away from it all and this was the first easy situation.
OR
he is just mad at the card being busted and ain't big enough to apologise for it.
Well thats how I see it.

Also don't let us advise you, only friends that know the ins and outs of it all should be giving advise and even then taking it ain't really always best.

Get together (if there is still hope of it working out) and talk face to face in a public place. If not then end it and post semi-nude pics of each other on the web and be done with it.

Well you shouldn't be demonised just for asking someone to check a memory card works. All they had to do was put it in the socket, take a game out of the gamecube, switch it on, select the memory card thing from the screen, and see if the cube recognised it. Simple. Probably. Maybe.
