Sorry for devotinga whole post to this but I have to express the sheer delight that I am experiencing at the moment! Yesterday I picked up a Dolby Digital 5.1/DTS Surround Sound system and to be honest I can't type words to describe how awesome this piece of equipment is. Without sounding too cheesy (although it really does :) life just isn't the same without it :)

Playing Halo in surround sound is nothing short of glorious! I am struggling to find words to describe how good Dolby Digital Sound is and it really does have to be experienced to be believe. Only Cliche's and Cheesy sentences can describe this system so I will now proceed to bring this post to an end :)

In Short go get one of these systems! It is worth every penny!

Probably not, I think they're designed to be on a ground floor, there's probably not much you can do apart from maybe put it on a load of scrap carpet or something.

Or tell your family to get used to it :-)

Any insulation ideas to stop it from going through the floor? Are there any products?

Heh, I guess it depends what you like. I just liked how much the others made me think.

How about Austin Powers? 1 or 2. Maybe both.

And the family's learnt to ignore my sub. It's a beast, I only have to turn the volumne on the sub up to over a half and my desk starts vibrating and making a shaking sound :\

Yep my system was £169.99 and then I got the Official Advanced Scart Cable for £19.99. At the moment I am searching online for something to cusion the bass on my Sub as it is rumbling down into the front room :) :(

Sorry Tom but I thought 'The Others' was a very poor film so I won't be getting it I don't think. I have a lot of the latest releases, Training Day, Blade 2, Black Hawk Down, The Art of War etc. Even though the film Phantom Menace is pretty naff I am going to get the DVD as it contains the best 5.1 soundtrack next to the ultimate Black Hawk Down.

If anyone has any ideas about what to get to cusion the bass then please would you say? My friend said something about triangulr spikes that go under the four corners of the sub which absorb the rumble but don't damage the affect, any ideas? Thanks!

They're really not that expensive, res, about £150 for the cheapest end (What garbe has ;-)).

With you new job, surely you could afford that and an Xbox for the same price as what us lot paid for the Xbox alone...

'The Others' is a great film, and also has a lot of Dolby Digital, which really adds to the experience.

Maybe rent it or something. But check reviews first to see if it's your type of thing.
