Anyway, at first I didn't blink an eye, then I remembered what we could lose. The Resident Evil franchise.
After just one game (the Resident Evil 1 remake), are we going to lose the franchise to MS? I'm kind of reserving judgement about Resi for now. I haven't played the GC version, but played it on the PSX and it was okay, nothing amazing though. I'll hopefully be getting it from SR tomorrow through the post. So while I may or may not think the loss of the Resi franchise is terrible for me personally, it'll still be bad for the Cube...
You can't deny the popularity of Resident Evil, the announcement that Resident Evil series would be remade and be exclusive to the Cube was a bit of a shock for a lot of Nintendo fans, as Resident Evil was long associated with the Playstation.
Resident Evil fans then have had a bumpy road. I'll bet many bought a PS2 early expecting to see a Resident Evil game before too long, then the GameCube announcement comes, so if they really want to play all the games they have to get a Cube too (or trade the PS2). Now if MS buy up Capcom, the Resident Evil franchise will likely be exclusive to the Xbox, meaning a further console switch if they wish to play the Resident Evil series... That could get annoying...
Well, that's about all. I'll decide how big a loss (well, potential loss anyway...) the Resi franchise is after I get the game, until then, thoughts/views on this? Is Microsoft getting greedy? Do you care about the potential loss of the Resi franchise? Are these questions at the end of posts annoying?
Thanks for reading.
You lied!!! :(
Anyway, am I right in saying RE3 is the same game as RE: Nemesis...? :S Nemesis was okay, but pretty short as far as I remember. Didn't have too many stupid puzzles though which was good.
I think (correct me if im wrong plz) that CV is staged as far as the storyline goes after RE3?
I havnt yet played RE3 on the DC so it looks like i need to buy both RE3 and CV in order to appreciate the Umbrealla fiasco to its true intent (and what a great story it has been so far too)
Once again thankyou for explaining about CV :)
And Sibs... damages incurred... the cash is in a brown paper bag behind that tree over there... sry if you cant see any trees lol :p
Yes.
Code Veronica is a better game.
Biohazard (remake) has:
*obviously has better graphics
*the better control system (type C)
*the cool defense weapons and stuff
But, Code Veronica has:
*better storyline
*better setting
*better characters
*better weapons
*better areas
*much larger areas, a bigger game as a whole
*two seperate games, Claire and Chris. Unlike Biohazard they do seperate things and have a seperate game/story that intertwines with the other charcters'. In Biohazard you do practically the same thing but with the other character.
This is because Code Veronica was made after Biohazard. Biohazard was remade, but it wasn't the whole game or storyline was it? Better graphics, new areas and new puzzles. Because CV was the 4th in the series, and unlike most films, games tend to get better as the series goes on, as they have much more expirence of developing, designing areas/puzzles etc.
So, yes, Code Veronica is better than Biohazard, it's the best in the series so far, although I reckon Zero will be even better. Trust me, athough it probably won't be remade (and it doesn't really need it) you should definately get CV.
> I know this is off the original topic and appologise for that.
Yer, damn straight... you must now pay me psychological damages of... some money... or I'll get claims direct on you! Have you seen their TV ads? Classic! :D
Im only asking because ive got RE on the GC but havnt yet played CV on the DC (i have a DC and love it still)
I know this is off the original topic and appologise for that.
But unlike with Rare, I'm positive that Nintendo are completely unwilling to give up the Resi franchise. They didn't mind about Rare because they weren't bringing anything in, but Resident Evil is a hugely popular series, there are six games planned for the end of 2003 (so unlike Rare they will actually be releasing plenty of games) and it attracts plenty of attention and new fans.
I definately want to keep the RE series. The only one I'd ever played before was Code Veronica on the DC, and I totally loved it! I can't wait till it's released on the Cube because I only completed it with one character, and CV is better than the re-make of the original too, and thats awesome.
I'm determind to get all six games in the series, but I won't buy an X-box for them.
Remember the Devil May Cry series and the PS2 and the Resident evil on Gamecube, both companies will need to be compensated for the loss of these after all it is a deal. It will take a while for all this to take shape and we may of got Resi 2 and 3 by then.
And more to the point... Nintendo might buy em... good replacement for Rare.
And if the rumours that SEGA will basically be exclusive to Nintendo become true... then id hardly see Capcom as important.... we'll see.
And it's NOT for a certain amount of time either, it's for six Resident Evil games, and for the RE series to become GC exclusive.
Besdies, theres plenty of rumours that Nintendo will buy Capcom as a 2nd party developer, as Rare were.
