In a stockholders conference a couple of days ago, Vince answered questions on a multitude of issues, such as the brand extension etc. However, in the most exciting bit of news, he said ECW would be returning in the future in a late night slot as WWE's 'third brand' after the brand extension has been properly established (and who knows how long that will take).

Exciting news, huh? ECW could provide the hardcore form of wrestling missing from WWE now. Maybe, just maybe, in the future we could see all three former companies competing under the WWE umbrella. If Bischoff turns RAW into Nitro, as has been speculated, we could concievably, in the long term, have ECW, WCW and WWE - imagine the potential for crosspromotional matches, oh the possibilities...

RAW is coming up to its 500h show soon so they won't do it before then if they do it. I read that they are really gonna be promoting this show to try and get more people interested in RAW and to get people that used to watch it to start watching it again, so I don't think they'll change the name for a while.

Personally, if the ECW show was made up of guys mainly like Tommy Dreamer and Justin Credible, I probably wouldn't watch it. Just doesn't appeal to me.

Maybe if they added guys like Kid Kash I'd watch, but I'd rather it if they added him to the Cruiserweight division.

Smackdown has had better wrestling and less promos than Raw and it feels like a better show. Smackdown is very watchable at the moment.

What is it about SmackDown that you prefer over RAW???

I'm like you, don't see RAW as much compatition to SmackDown, and I'm sure its becasue SmackDown as the better roster. Not taking anything away from the RAW people, but I just prefer watching wrestling on SmackDown.

Now that no more switches will be made to the roster, do you think RAW can get any better and be equal to SmackDown??? I'm not so sure

In my opinion, the brand extension is failing. Raw is really bad at the moment but Smackdown is showing real quality. Raw has to improve dramatically before this can happen.

Thats true, guess we'll just have to 'wait and see'.

Remember, this is a long way off, and that's if the brand extension succeeds, and the jury is definitely still out on that.

It does sound great, but Like Afro said, I can't see them getting rid of RAW, their flagship.

I mean, changing the name from RAW to a name which failed previously and having it run under Eric, the man who used to run the failed show.

Then again, stranger things have happened.

One downside though, what if Sky don't want the rights to the ECW Side???

That really would be great. Hope it happens.

Getting rid of RAW just wouldn't be right in the WWE world though, but I suppose the WWE themselves aren't actually doing much for it, putting most of the good superstars on SmackDown.
