I've been a fan since day one, seen every episode, multiple times in most cases.
Good Points;
Finally solved the question of exactly why the aliens are there, how they came to Earth, seeded the major religions, and the presence of the black oil.
The reappearance - as ghosts - of Mr X, Deep Throat, and the Lone Gunmen, and Krychek as well ! Added a great touch to the episodes and gave the impression that this really is the finale.
Cigarette Smoking Man reappearing, Spender making one last appearance, Gibson being there (proves he's still alive - vital to the coming final film).
The alien guy moving into the directors office at the FBI - major plot element for the film there !
Kirsch finally turning to help Mulder, the break out from the prison was good.
Confirmation that Mulder's siter is dead, and how...., and who took Mulder.
And finally, who can forget the moment Mulder look's out from the gantry in Mt Weather to see the rank upon rank of super soldiers being created ?
All in all it's solidified the plot and leaves the final film one major task - how will the alien invasion in December 12 2012 be stopped ? Chris Carter is promising that the film next year will answer the few questions that are left.......
There were no real bad points to it, for fans at least. Roll on the film I say !

> Umm... I saw it but the invasion date was: "22/ 12/ 2012" I
> saw it with my own eyes at the begining.
I had the funny feeling I'd got that wrong, my mistake - thanks !

When Mulder's father joined the group he was supposed to give up Mulder, but instead the Cigarette Smoking Man urged him to give up Samantha instead, knowing that Mulder would be more likely to uncover the cospiracy in later years if he had a driving force behind him.
The aliens used the conspiracy group's family members for the first tests, but hte conspiracy could do nothing for fear of their work on the vaccine being discovered. Samantha was returned to CSM in 1987, but the test continued, all the time at an air force base (seen in "Closure") where Jeffrey Spender - mulder's half brother and CSM's son - also lived. Samantha died in 1988 as a result of the tests the aliens did.
