I've been a fan since day one, seen every episode, multiple times in most cases.
Good Points;
Finally solved the question of exactly why the aliens are there, how they came to Earth, seeded the major religions, and the presence of the black oil.
The reappearance - as ghosts - of Mr X, Deep Throat, and the Lone Gunmen, and Krychek as well ! Added a great touch to the episodes and gave the impression that this really is the finale.
Cigarette Smoking Man reappearing, Spender making one last appearance, Gibson being there (proves he's still alive - vital to the coming final film).
The alien guy moving into the directors office at the FBI - major plot element for the film there !
Kirsch finally turning to help Mulder, the break out from the prison was good.
Confirmation that Mulder's siter is dead, and how...., and who took Mulder.
And finally, who can forget the moment Mulder look's out from the gantry in Mt Weather to see the rank upon rank of super soldiers being created ?
All in all it's solidified the plot and leaves the final film one major task - how will the alien invasion in December 12 2012 be stopped ? Chris Carter is promising that the film next year will answer the few questions that are left.......
There were no real bad points to it, for fans at least. Roll on the film I say !

Nope, don't think many of us would have wanted to see that....
Anyway the aliens did tests on Mulder, until later in the 8th season where UFO abductees started reappearing across America - dead. With the Lone Gunmen's help, Scully, Dogget and Reyes tracked the path of the UFO carrying Mulder, but the aliens returned Mulder in a field, where his body was taken by a strange UFO cult group to their ranch. The leader - Jeremiah Smith (remember him from the Season 6 ender ?) has been collecting returned UFO abductees and healing them. The FBI finds the ranch and storms it, Dogget finds, lyin on the ground, Mulder - dead. Jermiah Smith , the only one able to save Mulder, is then taken by the aliens. Two days later Mulder is bureid at Arlington.
Episodes later, it becomes clear thay many of the thought to be dead abductees aren't. Instead they're hibernating, incubating a new alien life form that takes their bodies. Mulder's body is exhumed, but the process seems irreversible....unless there is a vaccine or a way of reversing it. Needless to say Scully gets it, Mulder lives.

Eugene Victor Tooms (may have spelling wrong there on last name), was the guy, Tooms was killed by Mulder in a mall elevator in the episode "Tooms" in Season 1.

I thought it was good the way old characters made a reappearance - after all things like that have happened quite a few time, Scullys father appearing to her in "Beyond The Sea", Deep Throat in "Operation Paper Clip", Mulder's father in "Deadalive" (might have that one wrong)
If only Buffy had been this good, 'cause thats one show I own't be sorry to see end....

I didn't really like the way old people were brought back, as though it seemed like a finale it took away a little credibility. Kraijek rules though.
Aah, Great series. Now to collecting them all on DVD...
