Everybody has come across them, some people find themselves stuck in them forever, they are the annoying little 'bits' in games that DO NOT appeal, either by being too damn hard to do, or just plain annoying, the colour of the surroundings can even do it. Darkness may not add mood, it just means that you cannot see anything and end up walking around with screwed up eyes....think about those of us that do not have a contrast setting!
These 'bits' are garaunteed in games...they have to be, no-body liked ALL of the levels in goldeneye, complex anybody? I dont think so. The Boss that can't be beat on 'Nights' yes it WAS a big thing in its time, and the target you couldnt reach with Link in smash brothers, the bottle that you could'nt find in 'Ocarina of Time,' dont tell me you did not ask your mate or look in a mag.
Who can seriously say that they enjoyed going back to the start in a game, just for some miniscule item that was needed to continue, did you not wish for a torch that worked in tomb raider?
Is there a remedy for this? maybe not, it may be different for everybody, the fact that cheats are included in magazines and internet sites proves it. People DO buy walkthroughs, I for one believe that this ruins the vast majority of games, Turok was not worth playing once a password made it so simple you did'nt have to think, just blast away mindlessly, these aids definitely do take the fun out of it.
Could the developers and designers make games easier? this in turn would also take a lot of gameplay out of a title, rendering it all but a childs toy...

I believe that little can be done, these darn 'bits' that I so hate in games will just have to be dealt with in the good old fashioned thumb blistering knuckle grinding stick-at-it boring as hell method as always.

So its true! they should include a leaflet in the box,
i.e. 'how to jump the impossible gap'...and 'sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused,' know thy faults developers of ours.

I would, but hey, that's just me.

Umm. There was a REALLY annoying bit in TMNT on the C64, where you had to jump this impossible gap.

Impossible, I use in the heaviest sense.

Yeah why not. Hey, the intricacies dont matter, you agree that there ARE these annoying lttle errmmm, bits in games, you must have encountered at least a couple, the ones that are more annoying than challenging, that line must have been crossed...

oh yeah, I didnt invite them, i just know them, and would you speak against somebody that you have to see tomorrow?

Err. You said nobody likes all the levels in Goldeneye. That's hardly individual preferance, is it?

Anyway, Max, I don't mind you, I'm just peeved with you for inviting those idiots on here. Unless this is your plan to rule the forum?

Anyway, thanks for talking about games like I asked, can't we just be friends, like I tried at the start?

Perfect dark was a good game, only it was not perfect, or dark. the fact that we have individual preferance basically proves my point for me, thank you Grix.

No, only impatient people believe they will be stuck in it forever, and then refer to a guide.

That's the whole point of games though, to test yourself. And the only thing cheating proves is that you are childish.

Believe it or not, I love all the levels in Goldeneye, and I love darkness, as it adds mood to games. Complex was a good level...
