"Capcom game for $200"

Capcom have announced a planned November release for "Steel Batallion," a tank combat game for Xbox that will be packaged with a custom 40-button game controller and will sell for $200 in the US so £200 in the UK.

£200.00? 40 Buttons? Sounds like someone's having you on mate.

Actually no they're not - this controller is huge, complete with foot pedals. Remember, thoe whole idea of it is to give you the feel of being at the cockpit controls of a mech.

Pretty hardcore stuff then.

Woah.. sounds good. But I'd rather get five brilliant games than one brilliant game and a cockpit.

Seems a little hard to find FIVE brilliant games at once these days...

If you think the controller is hardcore - wait till you see the game. When your mech is about to blow, you have to make sure you eject in time. If you go up with the mech, its not a case of going back to your last save point or the beginning of the level - the game erases your game save !
So if you die as such thats it, your career is over and you have to start again as a new pilot. Now thats hardcore !

As long as the difficulty curve isn't too high. It would be a tad frustrating to keep dying all the time and having your save go with it.

I bet it would make a good Xbox Live game.

Keep that online thought in mind mate. The sequel to the game is going to be playable on X-Box Live. :-)

When exactly is the first game coming out over here?

I might buy it, although the Eject button is encased in a plastic flip lid. (Just like in the Movies) I'd be tempted to push that all the time!
